@Heritagecricket The ridge is a scheduled ancient monument known as The Dane's Dyke. It may have been a viking defence structure, although may only be medieval. Still very old.

@Heritagecricket @CrailGolf I was fortunate enough to play there in 2018, with the wind bending the flagsticks over. I told the starter that this would be my first, true links golf experience. He replied, “Good thing you didn’t pick a day that was windy!”
