when i was deep into my vocaloid era. i was like 12 and my favourite vocaloid was oliver. one day on the drive home from visiting family i saw a restaurant that completely ripped the official silhouette art for his voicebank. i did a full on double take.

This was all a decade ago and honestly me and misha are just a little frustrated how the story gets twisted and misinformation is added into the narrative by complete strangers who don't know us. Meanwhile we're both active online still and nobody ever goes to us for answers.

Anders Sodergren was the main developer for all of the engloids and starting with Oliver he gave kids dev tools to do his work for him while barely compensating them (if at all)
I worked on yohioloid and ruby while i was in high school and ruby finished when i was in college

As for the Ruby Diffsinger that we showed off last year, we ended up learning that Yamaha claims ownership of recordings used for Vocaloid, and while I doubt they would ever gaf that we'd make a diffsinger vb using the same recs, we figured it'd be better to be safe than sorry.

There's a whole new generation of vocal synth fandom now which is refreshing because me and misha used to get a lot of hate for "killing English vocaloids" back in the day whereas younger people now seem to be more willing to actually listen to us 😭

A kid in the Vocatone team at the time was like 12-13 when they started developing Oliver. DexDaina used rec scripts that I made for Ruby, bc the script used by engloids prior was kinda shitty with inaccurate phoneme transcription (which is why early engloids mixed I and i:)
