Personnel from Cosumnes Fire and Sac Metro Fire worked to extinguish an electric vehicle that caught fire on the southbound onramp from Cosumnes River Blvd to Hwy 99. No fire department or civilian injuries were reported.

Cosumnes Fire has two engines with 8 firefighters at the Oak Fire in Mariposa County. They are staffing CalOES Engines 8432 (wildland type 3) and 381 (structure type 1). Many thanks to these firefighters and those working extra shifts to maintain staffing levels here at home.

At 0750 this morning Cosumnes Fire was dispatched to a reported vehicle accident on I-5 south of Elk Grove. Units arrived to find a commercial truck had dumped its load of tomatoes. There were no reported injuries and the incident is being managed by CHP and CalTrans.
