This whole thread was worth reading but this one really got me….
19/20 Last but not least, we will say that even though this is 2023, there are almost no women in decision-making forums in Israel. This is an intolerable situation that must change. We demand that the negotiation team for the release of the abductees include women.

@familyunequal Seriously curious here - I get the the problems around the ahistorical and contextually stripped lack of nuance here - but I also agree that most of the policy suggestions described would be very helpful. What am I missing?

This is a much needed conversation and a great thread…
Among many conversations, there is one about the combo of the inhumane publish or perish culture in academia, the termination of DEI initiatives, the isolation of research, harsh work-life balance, and the alarming mental health crisis. People are hurting themselves and others.
