New version of the ctrld utility is released. Major changes include running as a system service, caching, ephemeral mode, Control D custom config mode, and automatic DNS assignment on network interface.
Next big release will include router auto-setup.
Fun fact: If you use the Ads & Trackers filter in Relaxed mode, it will allow affiliate and email tracking links to load. When the "redirect" Default Rule is enabled, these links, along with all your browsing activity will be proxied, masking your IP address, almost like a VPN.

We're happy to announce that the 1.0 version of the ctrld utility is released! It allows you to run a highly customizable local DNS proxy server on any device, and create dynamic DNS routing policies based on src ip, dst ip, and wildcard FQDN rules.
Fully overhauled custom rules management has been deployed today, alongside many quality of life improvements. We now also support 220 unlockable services.
Next up: IPv6 support, multi-profile/device capability and additional global server locations to improve latency.

You can already use 3rd party blocklists on top of the ones we offer natively inside the Control Panel. Now we're expanding the Free DNS resolver offering with anycast mirrors of many popular 3rd party blocklists. They are updated from source every hour.

Update on connectivity issues from 1hr ago: Due to a human error, we nullrouted an IPv6 /5 subnet instead of a /56. This resulted in cascading server de-announcements due to failed health checks. The remaining servers weren't able to keep up with the load from all the new traffic

New beta feature: Now you can make custom rules for any domain that resolves to IPs in a chosen country, or queried from a source IP within a specific country. We call these Geo Custom Rules. See documentation on how to use this.

IPv6 deployment is looking good. We hope to have it fully released in the coming weeks. Should solve a whole bunch of issues on some mobile networks and allow you to browse the entire Internet exclusively via IPv6, even sites that don't actually support IPv6.
Lots of updates this week to the Analytics panel to resolve some UI bugs and allow rule creation from the panel itself.
Additionally, we've updated the utility for Windows and Mac to support CLI mode - handy for scripted or group policy deployments.
ControlD now supports over 200 unlockable services. Lots of quality of life improvements were also deployed today. Next week will bring a major UI refactor, especially on mobile.

Many small updates and UI improvements were released. These should address ambiguities introduced with the multi-profile support. Ohh yeah, secondary DNS resolvers are now available too. You can find them in the "My Resolvers" section.
