I took a look at this AP farewell to Garland article to see if it followed the template. They subbed cautious for soft-spoken, but IMO it has the same effect. It's interesting that they hit these points so consistently, even on the way out.
@parrhizzia I can't get past the paywall but I will bet money that the following is in it: 1) a quote from Jamie Gorelick 2) a false positioning of Garland as someone who oversaw the OKC bombing case 3) the word "cautious" as a euphemism for "cowardly" Because there is a template.
