Today in the Dáil, I asked the Taoiseach to urgently review sentencing guidelines. It is not acceptable to see perpetrators getting suspended and concurrent sentences for serious violent crimes. For too long the criminal justice system has failed victims of violent crime.

An absolutely outrageous slur against the @labour party. We have always stood by the constitution and this state and its institutions.
What we witnessed today was the subversion of the Irish constitution. The most fundamental obligation of the Dáil is to elect a Taoiseach and indeed a government. That opportunity was denied today by a premeditated, coordinated and choreographed position by the opposition.
