Never did I imagine my community outreach project would take off like this! 46 schools, 86 classes, and nearly 2,000 second graders are ready to show the world how Southern Arizona shines in reading. As we get ready for this big month of literacy, my message to these amazing students: Every page you turn opens a world of possibilities. I’m beyond excited to lead my biggest outreach effort to date and can’t wait to see the impact we make together. Let’s show everyone the power of our stories and the strength of our community. Big things ahead! 📚❤️

On Thursday night, the U.S. government used a military plane for a deportation flight from Tucson. This follows President Donald Trump’s executive order declaring a "National Emergency" at the border, allowing military involvement to "secure our borders."

So grateful for my bilingual fiancée! Tonight she’s helping me translate the Spanish interviews I gathered at the Nogales Port of Entry. ❤️

While out in the field today, I met Kim Ngomo, a journalism student at @uazjschool. We made sure she had the perfect lighting as the sun set while filming a standup for her reel. It's crazy to think I was once in her shoes, eager to dive into the big stories.
