@rnovak1988 When I say lowering the wage I mean to say people who were already making above that poverty wage are likely to see their pay reduced down to that minimum wage. And believe me, there are many.

@rnovak1988 Our current economic system isn’t driven by what is best for the worker rather, what is best for the employer. But you’re right, I can’t be 100% certain. I’d be interested to see a poll with a question like: Are you more or less likely to tip knowing the tip will not be taxed?

@rnovak1988 1. People would tip less knowing that it won’t be taxed, effectively canceling out any chance of ‘extra money’ for workers 2. Employers would use it as an excuse to cut pay most likely claiming “since you aren’t getting taxed on your tips you have more take home”
