Please welcome Comicker's new Editor-in-chief, Dwight L. Macpherson of @hpcomics_ . He has been my fried for more than a decade, and with the growing team at Comicker, I felt that having an experienced and amazing editor would be a valuable asset to the team. Dwight was actually the one to get me back into comics and publishing. It only makes sense to bring him on board and let him do what he does best! I am extremely excited to have Dwight on our team! The only way we make it, is together! “WONDER TWIN POWERS, ACTIVATE!” Power couple Dwight L. and Rebecca MacPherson, of the award-winning Indy publishing company, Hocus Pocus Comics, have merged as an imprint of independent publishing house, Comicker Press. Comicker Press Publisher, Peter Steiner, was instrumental in the development of Hocus Pocus Comics, and his contribution to the Baltimore Poe Society’s Saturday Visiter Award winning trilogy, The Imaginary Voyages of Edgar Allan Poe, exposed the story to readers and schools nationwide. The collaboration and merger of these two publishers will ensure the farther reach of distribution, including the direct market and international distribution entities. Dwight will be also become Editor-in-Chief for Comicker Press. This new role gives Dwight the freedom not only to focus on creating more original stories for Hocus Pocus Comics, but he will be able to help foster the next generation of comic creators at the publishing house. Along with her HPC VP title, Rebecca will take on the role of Creative Director for Hocus Pocus Comics, and her first project under the Comicker label will be THE BOX. A love letter to the Universal Monsters and classic EC Comics, THE BOX promises to capture readers’ imaginations and keep them guessing until the last page. The graphic novel will be published in the summer of 2025. Comicker Press is a creator-owned, diversity-focused company with unique titles. It’s not just about comics; novels, children’s books, and more are part of this fast-rising company. Be sure to catch them on the comic convention trail, as creators will be joining the booth to talk to readers and sign copies. Welcome!!!
