The apprehension of Harris was a coordinated effort between the CDOC Adult Parole Fugitive Apprehension Unit, CDOC Office of the Inspector General, and the Fort Collins Police Department. The CDOC would like to thank the many law enforcement agencies that assisted in this effort.

On March 28, 2019, at approximately 5:15 pm Colorado Correctional Center escapee Cody Harris was apprehended without incident in Fort Collins by the Fort Collins Police Department. Harris escaped from an offender work crew on March 27, 2019, in Adams County.

It is with profound sadness we announce Deputy Jeff Hopkins while off duty, passed away on April 1 from the COVID-19 virus. Deputy Hopkins was 41 years old and leaves behind his wife, Wendy. Deputy Hopkins has been employed with the Sheriff’s Office since 2001. #NeverForgotten

On Friday we added our 17th name to the memorial wall honoring the men & women who died in the line of duty. Sgt Joshua Voth was killed on 12-4-2019 but due to COVID his name had not been able to be added until now. Sgt. Voth is gone but never forgotten.

On Sept. 11, 2021, the Four Mile Correctional Center facilitated a 9/11 Memorial Workout. 39 inmates participated, completing 9 different exercises of 11 repetitions for several circuits. The event was held to honor the memory of those lives lost 20 years ago in the attacks.

A group of 37 men who are incarcerated at the Colorado State Penitentiary raised $744.74 to donate to Loaves & Fishes in Fremont County. The men raised the money to help those in need in the community. Staff were able to present the check on behalf of the men. #spreadingkindness

On March 31, 2019, at approximately 12:30 pm, Delta Correctional Center escapee Adam Loehr #178404 was apprehended without incident near Whitewater, CO by the Delta Correctional Center Search Team and the Office of the Inspector General. Loehr escaped from DCC on March 9, 2019.
