Since the original 1929 jacket (USA) for #agathachristie's "The Seven Dials Mystery" was near perfection, is it any wonder that artist Stephen Millership was inspired by it for the new William Morrow printing & solely refreshed it for a new audience.

@FestusAstar It will make more sense when your covers arrive but pull the top half down to fit better on the DJ & then create a new defined fold/crease in the mylar by running your finger nail along the fold to score it. I use a few bits of archival linen tape to hold it in place as needed.

I may be stretching it here for #murdereverymonday but the best I can come up with for a fabric is the 1924 Dodd Mead (USA) of #agathachristie The Man in the Brown Suit. This is a very rare jacket with great period art.

@ArmchairSleuth I did enjoy it. The epistolary style was unique and Mary's character really shone through those letters. Good fun and entertaining.

@kenjohnsharp @agathachristie @CrimeReads @britishlibrary Nice art work. Well done. My favourite novel changes! Currently, I'd say The Hollow :-)

An excellent in-depth study on book 'blurbs' - especially as it relates to #agathachristie's 'Crooked House'. To add to the article, archival correspondance shows that Christie herself was influential in changing the blurbs for her books & often disliked the initial drafts.
My 1900th Post: It's all in the Blurb. Or is it? Marketing Agatha Christie's Crooked House @CollectChristie @allaboutthedame @agathachristie @PenguinBooks

For #murdereverymonday the US Dodd Mead 1953 printing of "Funerals are Fatal" (UK: After the Funeral) - the true 1st edition of this enjoyable novel. Plus, how about #agathachristie herself with an umbrella (or parasol) as a bonus!

When #agathachristie adapted her novel Five Little Pigs into a stage play she removed Hercule Poirot (as she often did) and renamed it "Go Back For Murder". She also provide guidance as to how the actors should handle the 16 year time span. Learn more at:
