I think it’s great the Mets are thinking of honoring Tom Seaver with a statue. It’s just really sad that they waited this long to do it. Now the man can’t even enjoy it with his family. He deserved better.

My wife was in another room while I was watching the Manning Cast and she made a great observation. “It sounds like they’re in the room with you watching the game.” Greatest compliment you could give them. They’re amazing and by far my favorite way to watch an NFL game.

On this day 37 years ago I was lucky enough to be part of the team that created and launched the first all-sports radio station. In addition to the content, lifelong friendships were launched and I’m blessed to still have so many of those folks in my life. Happy Birthday WFAN!.

Mike McCarthy really hurt his team in their loss to the Giants. Didn’t challenge the Pettis catch that would have been overturned-leaving the Giants out of FG range on 4th down. FG put the Giants up by 4. I also wondered why he didn’t go for 2 down 5 midway through 3rd Q.

The football world lost a HOFer. I lost my mentor and someone who was a 2nd father to me. Gil Brandt was my friend and he was always there for me and my family. I loved him very much and was blessed to have him in my life. RIP Gil and thank you for everything you did for me.

17 years ago tonight I produced the national radio broadcast of The Tuck Rule game for Westwood One. As a Raider fan it was a very emotional night and of course it changed the path of both teams dramatically. It was Gruden’s last game with the Raiders and the Pats won the SB.

Aqib Talib as a TV analyst is like hanging out with a friend who sees and knows everything. Calls out great plays, tells you exactly what defenses are doing wrong. Not a polished analyst yet, but I’d take him over many who talk too often about things not happening on the field.

The Raiders have now beaten all 3 of their division rivals. O-line coach Tom Cable has done an amazing job. Only 2 of their 5 starters played yesterday and they bulldozed the Broncos running the ball and didn’t allow a sack. Dominating win.

It’s easy to pin the blame on Zach for the Jets inept offense but their play calling is horrible. They do nothing to get this kid in a rhythm and out of the pocket by using short passes. Notice the Jags play calling. They’re playing chess while the Jets are playing checkers.

Really tough to watch the Raiders lose on a totally blown coverage. They went the whole game without giving up a pass of 20 or more yards before Travis Kelce’s 22 yard TD catch. The Silver lining in the Raiders loss is Derek Carr is playing the best football of his career.
