I’ve been at a Juco, D1, D1AA, offered by many D2’s and now coach at a Transitioning D3 school. Take this from someone who knows, there is talent everywhere. Does not matter where you play. They will find you.
Playing D1 is cool and all until you end up on the same depth chart as a NFL backup and a Gatorade player of the year. Do your research before signing.👆🏻
I’m evaluating a few Quarterbacks this morning and my girlfriend looks over my shoulder and says “He’s got good eyes, footwork is in rhythm”….
I was and still am shook😂
A quarterback who LEADS and is trusted by his teammates is the one who will be given the keys. Command presence in the huddle is such an underrated factor, almost as important as the physical aspect.
Blessed to announce that at the ripe age of 22 I am the Quarterback coach at Brevard College. Huge first start for my college coaching career.

@BrevardCollege
6’2 183 Lbs (Freshman)
A common misconception is that the size of the Quarterback plays into the success they will have especially at this level. Alot of Schools want the big 6’5 230 pound kid.
Someone took a shot on me. And I never looked back.
Blessed to have been a part of the rebuilding process for the Brevard football program over the last 5 years. Wouldn’t change it for the world.
Thank you Brevard! Go Nados🌪🌪🌪
A degree is a degree. If a young man makes a decision to get a free education, while being coached by the best to play his position then I don’t see the issue, regardless of who the school is. Let these guys make their own decisions.
Father’s Day tradition of tossing it around with pops. Needless to say, the man can still spin it at 68. Founder of the term “powerless effort” NOT “effortLESS power”. It matters not the age but more of HOW it’s done.💙🙏🏻
There are no promises made in my room. I can’t promise playing time. But what I can promise is that if I am recruiting you, I see something in you. Your work ethic will speak for itself. Your athletic ability has already been proven. Time to put the work in.
#WhyNotYou
Average players want to be left alone. Good players want to be coached.
Great players want to be told the truth.
If you can’t handle the truth or can’t look at yourself in the mirror, improvement isn’t possible.
The loudest Boos always come from the cheapest seats. People who invest the least in you will have the most to say. Trust your work and keep your circle tight.
May 11th, 2018 I graduated from Eastern Kentucky with 2 years left to play.
Fast forward 2 months and I was offered my first College coaching job. There is NOT one single regret ending my career to help mold young Quarterbacks. My competitive nature still runs very deep though🌪
I wouldn’t trade my Quarterback room for any room in the Country . The ability to retain information and execute at a high level is unlike any other. 3-0 and on to next week already🌪🙇🏻♂️

Excited to announce that I am the QB coach at Trinity Prep! Can’t wait to learn more of the intricacies involved with coaching other than mechanics that I’ve known my whole life from the best in the business. Back to Friday night lights for this fall at least.

Before ANYTHING else, when evaluating Quarterbacks their parameters physically, the big thing I look for is if the athlete is mechanically sound. For me, a smaller Q can easily break the “size barrier” just based on his mechanics and athleticism☝🏼🌪
2020 High School Recruits. The first week of February is coming very quickly. There is no more waiting for the bigger offer. The harsh reality is that they already have their guys this late. Go where you are wanted and don’t squander great opportunities.
Bowl Champs!!! The heart and the toughness of this group is unreal. Playing a whole game with a broken thumb on a throwing hand isn’t an easy task to achieve. Love these guys💪🏻
Here at Brevard, this incoming freshman class is the most talented it’s ever been across the board. I cannot wait to see the product we put on the field game 1.

The ones who are honest with you and hold you accountable are the ones you need to keep close. People who WANT to make you better. The ones that lie to cover your flaws need to stay away.
You ever look at a team as a whole and tell yourself “I’d hate playing AGAINST those guys?”. That’s what I tell myself every day about Brevard Football. Across the board it’s a scary look.
College Football and TEAM sports in general bring unity. Teammates I’ve had over my college career have all been brothers of mine. No matter the ethnicity. We understood eachothers background and our PURPOSE.
We need to come together. Because right now, we’re on the ropes
People often ask why I gave up years of eligibility to coach in the college game and the answer really simple. My passion for seeing players succeed and improve is much more enjoyable then playing.
Learning from a guy who is one of the best mechanical coaches in the game has been a blessing. Mechanics are everything when it comes to playing this position. You will be coached I promise you. Have a question? Let me show you.
We can pray and endlessly ask god for things which isn’t bad as long as we are listening. If all we are doing is asking a demanding the Devine, that just means we aren’t really listening.
Just two Q’s out of Mississippi Juco’s looking for homes back in 2015. Just goes to show that patience in recruiting pays a tremendous virtue❗️❗️
Proud of you
@GardnerMinshew5
I advise any trainer to start a young Quarterback from under center before getting in the gun. It’s ALOT easier transition than trying to work the other way. Rhythm 3, Rhythm 5, 5 with a hitch and even 7.
I’d like to publicly announce that I have ended my college playing career. Thank you for all of the support and love. Now on to coach the position I know best. 💪🏻🏈
I was never the most athletic. Nor was I the most physically gifted. I just knew that there wasn’t going to be anyone on that field who was more prepared than I was.
Do be surprised in practice if I SHOW you what to do rather than just explain it. That goes for every position coach here at Brevard. You’ll be coached by people who know and played at a high level

I know what it feels like to have ups and downs because that’s what being D1 athlete will do to you alone. And the downs have been the darkest depression imaginable. If ANYONE needs to talk, say something. I truly think what saved me was talking to people.
