Covid data from my summer coaching basketball. On June 1, I started documenting and observing. This is a brief summary of my observations. This is not a political statement or stance on the virus but a brief view of real information. Please let me know if you have any questions.

What separates coaches since all can research plays or access drills off the Internet? Not all coaches bring positive energy every day, build caring relationships & develop a culture of accountability. Too many are negative & bury confidence, create fear, & demean or disrespect.

One year ago I found out I would have 2 non English speaking students in my class all year. I made learning a 2nd language a priority that day. Im nowhere near speaking the language at this time but am learning new words & skills every day. I wish I had @duolingo 20 years ago.

There has been 1 death per million people for the age group of 15-24 due to the coronavirus per the CDC, but some parts of the country are shutting down schools for the fall semester. on May 13. I understand potential spread, but this seems off to me.

The incredible success in York doesnt happen by accident or magic potion. It is a combination of freakishly talented kids that ALSO work very hard, parents that make winning and competing a priority, coaches that strive for excellence and very supportive admins. Whos got next?.

So proud of this crew. Grateful to even have played ball. I think of the connections and memories we made. The joy we provided for so many. I think of the tough times we worked through together. How hard we fought each game. This team played for each other. I love you girls. ♥️

I am very disappointed in the @nsea_org for their recent series of tweets. I do not support most planned actions recommended by them. I will not be renewing my membership. I am extremely grateful for the work done by York Public Schools to help keep our staff and students safe.

After only a few weeks of our current educational situation, I believe that schools and teachers priorities over the next two months or so should be on supporting mental health of our kids and their families vs a makeshift online education. #deepthoughts.

Often times coaches say, "play each game like it is your last". I think about the athletes that didnt get to finish their season and didnt know they were playing their last. If you are an underclassmen and can still play your sport, make the best of it. Prepare like a champion.

Im incredibly proud of our team for this great season. The ultimate goal is to win in Lincoln but I will certainly choose to remember this group for the hard work & improvement, the comradarie, overcoming adversity, and the many big wins. Thanks girls for letting me be a part.

I'm not sure what will offically happen with Big 10 football but I have to throw out a major thank you to @CoachGSnodgrass and @alli_snodgrass for being an integral part of getting it back. They won't want any recognition but Im darn proud to call them friends.

It was always a dream of mine to coach football with my high school best friend. His move to York in 2011 made it happen. I was blessed to have a front row seat to observe the amount of time, effort and care he and his family committed to the kids and families involved with the.
After a great deal of discussion with my wife, Allison, & sons Garrett & Dalton, I have made the decision to step down as head football coach at York. We’d like to thank all of the admins, assistant coaches, families, & especially players over the last 27 years at Overton & York.

Tonight mark's the 25 year anniversary of North Loup-Scotia winning it's only football state championship. Now that it is cold, I will be wearing this coat until it warms up. My wife loves it.

In the last week York kids have been to DC, NYC, Oky City & Costa Rica. As a kid I remember thinking it was great to go to Ord for Pizza Hut.

Our GBB team played Pius summer league with a shot clock and I have to say it was a great experience. We had 3 violations in 8 games. Most of the time we didn't even notice the clock. We had a few hurried shots but it forced us to be more intentional with our movement each (1/4).

Every class when I take attendance I give each student six seconds to share about the daily topic. Today's topic: "If you could change one thing about mom or dad, what would it be?" The answers made me think, scared me, and created real dialogue.

I'm still trying to process the loss of Jack Vincent. I hurt for Jean and the family. Jack was a great friend. While I was in college in 1998 Jack hired me as a Legion Baseball coach for a couple summers. In 2006 when I applied for the York GBB position I made sure his name

I imagine it is much more challenging to be a kid now then it was 25 years ago. There seems to be so many more triggers. If times are tough, I encourage you to find the strength to serve others. Focusing your energy on helping others will build your self-confidence, mental.

General feeling from the #Royals tonight, including manager Matt Quatraro, was that was the loudest The K has gotten all year. Kyle Isbel said it was the first time he could hear the crowd when he was at the plate instead of zoning it out. Bobby Witt Jr. said it was "electric.".

When I was a kid, I threw thousands of pitches against this brick wall. I aimed for a crack in the sidewalk and if I threw it hard enough it would come back to me faster. Woulda been a great story had I made @MLB. I loved showing my kids for the first time today where I grew up.

I had six people call me brave today for taking my kids, niece and nephew to @Walmart to pick up team camp supplies for tomorrow. I simply told them we were filming a documentary on why not to bring five kids under 10 to Walmart. We survived.
