One of my favorite things about having young children is they don’t care if daddy won the game or not. When I got home tonight my four-year-old daughter just wanted a piggy back ride from daddy to go upstairs for bedtime. 😊

No team to coach right now so our four-year-old is repping shots off shake action in a slot ball screen.
Teaching points:
1. Don’t lift until big is rolling to rim.
2. Shooter needs to talk “shake shake shake!”
3. Hook pass should be over the head (major fail on my part)

1. Officials allow WAY more contact
2. Travel rule is just like the NBA
3. Shot clock is a non-factor for the first 28 minutes and then makes the game significantly better the last 4 min.
4. Officials get paid $79 a game. $20+ more than In Colorado

This team could have folded at any moment after the things we’ve been through. But they battled, played for a centennial league championship, beat a perennial power in a road playoff game, then were tied at East with four min left but ran out of gas. I’m proud of this group!
Raptors come up short in the Sweet 16 80-65 to Denver East this afternoon. Tight game until the final few minutes.
Overcome a lot to get where we were today. Proud of this team and coaching staff.

Easier said than done. We pay hudl to stat our games, 12 hr turnaround. My entire staff teaches 5 classes each and have families. I’m trying to win games, teach and be a husband and father. How fast our stats are on maxpreps is not a priority nor is it a scholly deal breaker.

I coached HS games w/ and w/o a shot clock this season. Biggest takeaways 1. The 35 second clock was rarely a factor the first 30 minutes of the game. 2. The clock drastically changed the final 2 min. Trailing teams could rely on their D to get stops late rather than foul/pray.

In 2004 Steve Nash won his first of two MVP awards. He also led the league in positive touches i.e. high fives. He averaged 239 positive touches PER GAME. Enthusiasm is infectious.

Watched this young lady in high school for three years. Her transformation at Iowa Western CC into a PAC 12 player is unbelievable. The amount of time, effort and energy she put in the gym paid off huge. Congratulations Aubri!

Would love a rule change to one mandatory day off as determined by coaches. I’d practice Sunday evening and give one day off during the school week. Allows kids to get academic support after school and allows coaches see their families more.
I do dislike some of CHSAA rules regarding contact on Sundays with players. I’ll just keep it right there.
