This is MATURITY in a competitive team environment. TEAM FIRST, and emphasis on being a great person before her role or identity as a basketball player. Really cool to hear athletes talk like this.
"She's one of the biggest players in the world right now. But she doesn't act like that. She's just like 'help me'." This story is so sweet. Erica Wheeler and Caitlin Clark will be trying for the same starting spot this season. But Wheeler, a 10-year WNBA vet has taken Caitlin under her wing, and tried to be the first one to welcome her to the team. On a personal note: as a kid who started at a new school when I was in 7th grade, this sentiment resonates a whole lot. I've never forgotten the first people who made me feel welcome, and were kind to me.
