Recently I have had some young coaches ask me how to get a GA job. I have been fortune enough to be a GA for 5 years at both UMass and Pitt. How did a D3 football player become a P5 GA? Because of GRIT and not taking no for an answer.

Can’t be afraid to ask for an opportunity!. I got my first GA job after I won the Tuss Mclaughry award my senior year in college. I gave a speech to a room of coaches and then went up to Coach Whipple and expressed my interest in being a GA. He didn't say yes right away. .
