To the public a coach’s record is judged based on a scoreboard. As a society we want instant results & gratification. I received an email from a young man I coached 15 years ago. He’s a successful police officer, father and husband. He wanted to say thanks. That’s winning.

25 years ago I had to convince the staff at Atlantic HS that I was actually the JV basketball coach at Santaluces HS. Tonight we open at Michigan St. Thank you to all those who have loved and supported me, those who have played for and coached on those teams. Live your dreams!

Throughout a lifetime as a coach, as an athlete and as a fan I’ve heard our National Anthem played thousands of times. It always evokes emotion. Nothing will ever come close to the feeling I experienced watching my son graduate from boot camp. I’m extremely proud and grateful.

30 years ago today I became a father. I wasn’t much more than a kid having a kid. All I ever wanted was to keep him safe & provide all of the opportunities this world has to offer. Yesterday I got to celebrate him. He has chosen to serve and I couldn’t be prouder. HBD Trey.

Great way to finish boot camp this am. Between playing and coaching this will be my 35th straight year being part of a team. Value relationships above all. I will never lose sight of the work required to ensure that I will get a chance to coach a 36th team. Embrace our journey.

I was fortunate today to have a friend of 30+years visit campus today with his son. We are both 1st generation college grads with Master’s degrees. We were able to take advantage of education and opportunity. Just wanted to thank all those who’ve helped me and continue to.

Jacksonville is a big city that I’ve been proud to call home for almost 15 years. The past couple of weeks have been extremely difficult for a lot of special people. As large as this town is it is in times like these that I’m reminded that we truly have a sense of community.

Deeply saddened by news of the passing of Conrad Foss. Conrad did so much for so many. One of my favorite things about him was his frankness & honesty. Fortunate to spend time with him in June. We had a great laugh as he busted me up about not being able to sit by the cooler!

I don’t think this is a revelation. There are OUTSTANDING coaches (and usually even better people) at EVERY level. Every HS and JUCO gym I walk into is a learning experience. One of my favorite aspects of recruiting.

I am so sorry for your family’s loss. I had the pleasure of competing against him and more importantly being mentored by him. I’ll never forget when I was out of a job he told me to focus on the 4 F’s. Faith, family, fitness and finances. He left a legacy.
It’s with a shattered heart I post this. My dad, Coach Tony Ingle passed away tonight. I’m so blessed to have had such an amazing father & example throughout my life!! I love you dad!! I already miss you!!
Thanks to everyone who has prayed for our family during this tough time.
