Outsourcing is when you send your work to INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS who are NOT on your PAYROLL. They Do NOT work FOR YOU as a W-2 Employee. There are a variety of ways to outsource- * Hire Interns at your local colleges and allow them to work from their dorm, home, etc. Hire them as independent contractors for specific tasks like website development, social media marketing, videography, etc. You will 1099 these students once they make over $600 from you. *Hire agencies local or abroad to take over your tasks like the ones above and more. Agencies will then use their own sources to get your tasks done. You will pay a premium as these agencies specialize in specific skillsets. *Hire independent contractors on websites such as Fiverr and Upwork, or OnlinePH. When you hire these contractors, you don't 1099 them if they live outside of the USA. If they live inside the USA, you will have to 1099 then once they earn $600 from your company. *Hire virtual assistants- virtual assistants are important to your business and you have more control over the output. You can hire virtual assistants who work from home in the USA or overseas. If you hire virtual assistants in the Philippines, you do not 1099 them. They are not U.S. citizens and they don't live in the U.S.A. They live in the Philippines. The USA and the Philippines have a treaty regarding this. Your accountant may want your va to sign an affidavit stating they are NOT a U.S. citizen and they don't live in the U.S.A. They didn’t even allow him to back up his testimony with the tapes. He didn’t do anything illegal. He fought for his innocence and refused to take their plea deals. This is how prosecutors railroad people. I’ve been a victim of the insane and unfair legal system. I know others who have too. Until you have to go through it- you don’t have a place to stand. Your information is from news and not the actual court records. Juries have convicted innocent people before and they will do it again.
