Marcelo Bielsa is essentially saying to Frank Lampard right now - “I studied your team diligently with 20 staff members for about 300 hours. All for a 2-0 win” This guy is on a planet and level I only aspire to be on. Scouting reports 30 games long for one match, unreal.

I really believe in this one. (we'll try the left-side next time) It challenges the players at finishing on the angle, it's two-touch max, and the movement prior makes for a more realistic shooting angle replicative of a game situation. @msceducation @Smedley033 @charlie_croydon

Extremely simple trends that Bielsa has instilled into #lufc but you can tell it’s from the relentless rehearsal on the training ground. One checks in, one checks out, consistently unbalancing.

Seen Bielsa working on similar technical channels like this. Very simplistic, but puts a huge emphasis on maximum focus & output within each repetition. Encourages the use all angles of the foot in the lay-offs & demands risk-taking with confidence @TacticalPad @msceducation

Something notable about Bielsa’s system at LUFC is that the full-backs are always looking to overlap. Whether that be in the DF or the ATT half. More notably, if they can get both 3 & 2 to overlap within the same sequence, they create regular overloads in possession. @TacticalPad

A quick transitional activity to goal I ran yesterday. Simply split the group in attacking & defensive players, included the activating passes & dribbles to create a transitional moment + varied the service into either team. @Smedley033 @TacticalPad @msceducation

Breaking the press via longer passes (Activity) - Red team begin at cones & drop upon the long ball to begin. Red must score before mannequins for the goal to count. Blue look to force turnover / deny the long pass to mini goals & counter. @Smedley033 @msceducation @TacticalPad

Playing in, Playing out. Encourage players to be creative with angles of reception & vary their touch to help them open play + connect the following pass. Also - Once in the box, scanning prior to receiving ball is important to maintain space @TacticalPad @Smedley033 @SoccerIQ1

An exercise focused around the 9. Two-rep sets with both balls beginning with the 6. The coach calls "go" for the ball to be played into 9 as quickly as possible for a two-touch attempted finish. @Smedley033 @PlanItCoach @msceducation @coachingbadges @BreakthruSoccer
