This is one of the most difficult messages I have ever had to compose. We lost a legend today as Coach Rich Goulet has passed away. He was one of the most giving and caring man I have ever known. He was one of the greatest coaches the basketball community in BC has ever had.

Every year Rich hosted our NCAA championship party. We had a pool (which I never seemed to win), Goulet would order the Chinese food & we would all 2nd guess the coaches & I would bitch non stop about Billy Packer. Truly one of the best nights of the year with great people ../2.

Just be careful not to make assumptions that a coach "yelling" automatically means he is being disrespectful. Some coaches are more animated or louder than others but still truly care and respect their players. Listen to what is said not the volume of how loud it is said
It is so ridiculous to believe that a coach has to yell & scream at players to get them to play hard or play with passion. Virginia men played with passion, with a passionate coach in Tony Bennett. But players were treated with respect.

Before camp comes to BC each year, college & university coaches are called and emailed, the majority from the region don't even reply when 100-150 prospects (players that they one day hope to recruit) are in one gym in controlled scrimmage and drills. Not case in other places.
