Having coached both OL and WRs I will say this. Coaching WRs is extensive, difficult, and detail intensive. It’s disrespectful for people to say just because a player is fast they can play WR. Being a great WR is much more than being fast, tall, or quick. Do those skills help?

I cannot emphasize this enough again. Studying your district opponents heavily during the off-season reveals a lot. The more you watch the more you find. It’ll save you more time in season. This was something I needed to improve on and I feel as if it’s made me better.

TCU deserves more respect for their Wide Zone. Anderson did a great job of reading the play and getting vertical after his read steps. He knows he’s got a chance of hitting this play outside as 49 is a 4i. The H does a great job of getting the force defender out.

TCU WZ Clip 2. Anderson sees the 5 tech so he may not get outside so w/his read steps he next reads the 3 tech. He gets blocked out and on his 4th step he gets ⬆️ for a big play. Horizontal push with BS help is 🔑. This play takes a lot of investment but it’s worth it.

Lincoln Riley said it best. When you run Y-across that Y must be a true artist at that route. He’s a guy who has to be disciplined to run the USOM effectively. It’s a “feel” type of player at that spot in your offense when running the Air Raid.

In a COVID season wear and tear has to be considered. Ohio State is much more fresh than Clemson. 6 games compared to 11, those details matter. Coupled with an inability to stop the run and not win third down.

Y-Corner Variation and great call seeing the MOF is very open, but what makes it great is 2 things. The BS runs a HR to hold the safety and flat defender. The the playside runs Y-Corner but the OWR runs the slice concept w/flashing his hands and then slicing to the MOF.
