I cannot tell you how many kids I have recruited over the last few years that went D1or D2 and are no longer playing. It isn’t just about talent people. Being a college athlete at ANY level is a huge commitment. Be ready to go all in.
Muskingum Softball Head Coach Laina Conner joined the Muskie Sports Network to talk about Muskingum earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Softball Tournament. It marks Muskingum’s 21st Regional Appearance. Let’s Go! 🥎🔥

Being a college athlete is hard. It requires a level of commitment, dedication and passion that you don’t even know exists in you. It’s called “the next level” for a reason. Be ready to level up. ⬆️
31 and 1/2 hours trapped in the Orlando airport. My babies did amazing. My players handled the emotional roller coaster ride of delays and cancellations and possible next flights with dignity and respect. . . AND We finally made it home.
Thinking about nominating Ahren for the Assistant Coach of the Year Award. He loves emailing recruits and has a positive impact on everyone he meets!
@NFCAorg
What do you think? Does he qualify?
My favorite team❤️ Nothing brings me more joy than seeing them in centerfield. I hope everyone has someone that supports them like my little fam supports me. Thank you Matt for dragging two littles across the country to watch us compete all season long!
Praying for all the parents dropping their kiddos off at college 💕
They will struggle, doubt themselves, and they will have moments of weakness but they will also impact their peers, find out what they are capable of and grow beyond measure 💕
Yesterday was mass chaos filled with frustration, tantrums and a lot of tears (by all 3 of us). Today I’m basking in gratitude that I get to be the mom of these two . ❤️
This morning at breakfast Ahren said (totally out of the blue)
“Baby Blaire is my favorite. She's going to sit beside me at your softball games.”
And my heart melted into a puddle ❤️
D1 is life changing.
D2 is life changing.
D3 is life changing.
Find the school and softball program that will help you grow into who you’re meant to be. Your worth is not tied to a division level.
Spring coaches talking with their spouse.
“I might be home from 2:30-6:30 and then go to practice.” Or “I might be able to practice 4:30-6:30 and come home after.” Or “I might be able to practice 3:30-5:30. I’ll let you know by noon.” 🙃🙃🙃
Catch the Muskie coaching staff at Stingrays this weekend! Wanna make waves? Send your schedule to the coach attending your location!

offense was clicking in a home-opener sweep of Denison. The are now 12-4 overall.
You know what I love? When people just dive in head first to things, completely unashamed. Our world needs more of this. Stop worrying about judgement and just have fun!
We asked Ahren what his favorite part of today was and he said “daddy”.
😭🥰
No matter what gifts we give them, they will always love our time and attention the most.❤️
One of the first things that needs to change is ranking high school students based on “their athletic abilities”…. Let’s nurture their leadership, character and becoming a great teammate.
I feel so lucky to be leading this program forward with amazing women who teach me as much every day as I teach them. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming. THANK YOU!!!
