Not sure how 19,000 can pack the Garden but many local schools still not letting in fans. Sure follow the money - but how about follow the common sense. Kids don’t get a redo - show some sense of urgency school admin and get it done….

D1 AAU Basketball is VERY competitive. If your not willing to cut hard / screen hard/ defend hard / sprint / sacrifice your body on each possession then It’s not for you. Being elite is much more than being able to make a shot or a nice move everyone now and then.

Been coaching since 1997 and have never seen a coach run onto the court mid play…. No tech / no warning just a play on - unless your the guy calling for the tech - ya I got a tech for asking / yelling for a tech. Crazy.

Nothing really surprises me anymore with AAU - some players leave for higher level teams which I can comprehend, what I don’t get is all the lateral movement. Life lesson - you don’t leave a job for a lateral position year after year / you stay dig roots make a name for yourself

I always thought the best / toughest coaches to play against were the ones who got the most out of their talent (win or lose). The ones who expected to win due having the most talent were not always the best coaches / teachers of the game.

Pretty cool week as summa slows down. Camps nearing the end 4900 + campers through our doors. AAU Tryouts in full swing, 675 + players registered. Coaches / staff did a great job all summer pulling this off. ASA community runs deep, kinda humbled if I let myself think about it.

Been trying to comprehend the Texas Shooting & cannot. Point blank just no need for an AR15 for any civilian - the argument for self defense or 2nd amendment is garbage. I never post on political issues but when kids are getting shot up couldn’t hold my tongue (fingers) anymore.

but within competition there is a certain etiquette or way to go about things: for example calling middle school kids or constantly going after coaches. The lack of respect for the game just fuels the 🔥💪🏻

Take away from this Fall. More and more high school competitive players blowing off games and practices. Yes Fall league and captains practices are legit excuses in my book but the other stuff mostly just reasons to not take yourself serious.
