🧵#BREAKING: We are pleased to hear that @RutgersU has decided AGAINST including “caste” as a protected category in its policy preventing harassment and discrimination. 👏🏽👏🏽 As we and our CoHNA Youth Action Network (CYAN) team at Rutgers had argued, caste is already covered under existing categories in the policy, such as ancestry and national origin. Including caste would lead to discrimination against students and faculty of Hindu and Indian origin. Glad to see that, in spite of the lies and bigotry peddled by @ruaaup and Audrey Truschke, the Rutgers administration listened to the concerns of the students and community members and took appropriate steps to protect ALL students and faculty from harassment and bullying. The perfect gift for the festive season as we celebrate Lohri, Pongal, Makar Sankranti and more! 1/n

In 1951 Hindus comprised 22% of (then) East Pakistan. By 1974 that number had fallen to 13.5% in newly formed Bangladesh and continued to decline to less than 8% today. We "replace Bangladesh with India" as you asked and found these same trends exactly opposite, with the minority populations rising as a percentage of the Indian population. So why is so more energy used to manufacture fear about India when the data is so clear and stark? Likely a way to deflect and detract from the real persecution underway in the neighborhood...

A very Hindu moment on Capitol Hill today as Kash Patel touches the feet of his parents – seeking their blessing before his confirmation hearings. And then to kick off the proceedings with “Jai Sri Krishna”! 🕉️ This is the promise of America🙏🏿

@denverpost - this is not a Swastika but the Nazi Hakenkreuz. Hakenkreuz is a German word that translates to “hooked cross.” Hitler never used “Swastika” but always called his symbol of hate “Hakenkreuz.” Here is a convenient comparison to know the difference between a symbol of hate vs a sacred symbol. Context matters. For more info, please visit our resources at or

With the return of the Maha Kumbh Mela after 144 years, humanity is witnessing an unparalleled Hindu gathering of faith, devotion, and joy in the ancient land of Bharat. Yet @CNN , @BBC , @business , @nytimes -- a long and "august" list of media outlets that regularly target Hindu beliefs have sought to reduce the Maha Kumbh to a "spectacle". And now, following in the footsteps of its Anglo counterparts, France's @LaCroix also reduces the Maha Kumbh, an ancient Hindu tradition, to a 'Modi PR stunt with a Hinduism theme in a kitschy setting'. Why does Western media often misrepresent Hindu beliefs and practices? It's really not that hard to report with a curious yet respectful and engaging gaze. Just look back and learn from literary greats like Mark Twain and his 1894 report on the Kumbh. 🙏🏿 Our latest piece, 'A Hinduphobic Gaze on The Maha Kumbh,' breaks it all down and shows how the liberal media's coverage of Hinduism is anything but "progressive". Read, share and help your networks understand the deep bias, since our own friends and family often get their "knowledge" of Hinduism from such publications!
