Either by being "students" of his or collaborators but he tends to get the credit.
This doesn't dismiss what Zimmer actually does, which is the main themes and a lot of the sound design.
His name also attracts more revenue.

Snakes are not empathic nor associate with animals. They see all beings as objects to be consumed. While dogs, cats, humans, and even wild animals relate to each other with characteristics that make us associate, snakes do not partake in, what we call, anthropomorphism.

Likewise, I think dangerous animals should be left alone too.

On top of that, KFP is a series Hans has taken a strong liking to. He worked on the first two films with John Powell and has remained the only listed composer since. Him and the director of 2-3, Jennifer Yuh Nelson spent days working out scenes together.

Both Tai Lungs and Kai's themes are riff-based, melodic cells generally being used either with pedal or power-fifth basslines.
Shen’s theme clearly models itself on the romantic era Russian style of composing thematic material. It's so opposed to the other two- It's great.
