Starmer will be the dullest and most insipid PM we have ever had. Even worse than Gordon Brown. Grief, have we really got to listen to that whiney, dalek voice for 5 years?
#marr
Unbelieveable. Jo Cox mentioned before David Amess by Andrew Marr in his intro. And then again. David only mentioned once. I’m sorry. I’m calling this out today. Both cases dreadful. But today should be all about David and why this happened.
I am not interested in any more photos that come out. Apologies have been made. Lessons have been learned. Get on with the important stuff,
@BorisJohnson
.
Why do radio stations only have human rights lawyers on their programmes, against government? What about the absolute majority who think this idea of Boris’ is an absolute blinder of a solution?
I’m still so sad about
@BorisJohnson
. 😞 His ‘undoers’, of all kinds, really managed to twist and turn the truth to get rid of him. And to turn some of the public away from him. It’ll probably happen to the next one. But we have really lost someone great. I won’t stop saying it.
Come on,
@Keir_Starmer
. What are you doing about this? You’ve cancelled Rwanda. You’ve not even addressed the immigration issue seriously in a speech. What are you going to do? This is not far right. This is us!! The ordinary public.
I’ve never said this before, but we actually need a more right wing party, but with clever people in it who have the balls to carry things through. Not pander to the lefty Lib Demmy bleeding hearts of this world. People are crying out for someone to take proper control.
Oh grief. Starmer is the pits. He has no clue, no personality, no speech making ability. I have never heard such a downbeat and depressing drone from a PM.
Why couldn’t MPs just support Boris in carrying out his manifesto? It was an amazing manifesto. Voted for by the public. Why couldn’t they see what everyone else can see, that he & they were stitched up by press & opposition? I am very sad that he was forced out. Just wrong.
All three results tonight show that Tory voters sat at home because of the shafting of
@BorisJohnson
. Largely, they’re not pro Labour. Those seats could go back to Tories next time if Boris came back. They don’t like Starmer. But they also don’t like Sunak.
@Conservatives
The
@Conservatives
#ToryMPs
have to
#BringBackBoris
. The excitement on Twitter that it may even be a possibility is like waiting for Freddie Mercury to come on stage. No-one else in Parliament generates that interest or excitement. The comeback World King! Come on,
@BorisJohnson
@PaulKirkby3
I’m afraid these signs and messages are all over London. I drive on the A40 and elsewhere and there are all sorts of signs popping up in what looks like Arabic languages, with no translation. I’ve no idea what they say. In my home city. It worries and saddens me.
Reading
@BorisJohnson
’s article in the Mail today made me cry. Not because it’s sad - or because I’m feeling sore after a small op. 😫 It’s that we lost, as PM, one of the only people I know who might bring this country together, cheer us up and sort out a few of its problems.
I didn’t realise that Labour would be such complete and utter control freaks in power. Straight jacketing anyone who doesn’t agree with them. That’s how it feels. Did Labour supporters feel that way under the Conservatives? No. We let them have their silly protests & marches etc.
I will always
#BackBoris
. It is totally unacceptable that our elected PM was ousted this way. And then hounded further by this sham enquiry. If he comes back in any form, I’ll be there supporting him.
@BorisJohnson
I sincerely hope that Boris comes back with Farage and/or others and boots these toerags Ellwood & Shapps etc into touch. And no. We have not moved on from Boris. No.
Rishi Sunak surely has to go now. He is not what Conservative voters want. Party members should have a vote for a new leader. Soon. We all know who that should be. Put it to a membership vote.
@Conservatives
Shameful of the
@Conservatives
. The best manifesto we have had, the best PM and leader of the country for years and they boot both out. I’m so angry. I’m that angry, in fact…
We are saddened by the resignation of
@BorisJohnson
as the MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip. We would like to pay tribute to his work to advance animal welfare. Under Boris Johnson’s leadership as Prime Minister, Defra published the world-leading Action Plan for Animal Welfare
You are a Point of Light yourself,
@BorisJohnson
. No one else is going to do the job as well as you have. And you are what we need to take us through this difficult time. Sorry - and you will probably think this wrong, but I’ll never forgive the MPs for pushing you out. Never.
The 736 Points of Light that the Prime Minister has awarded are the very best of our country – embodying the spirit of hope and the spirit of service to others.
I’m noticing some
@Conservatives
stating
@BorisJohnson
’s stance on green issues as something they don’t like about him. We all want clean air, less litter and plastic in the sea and thriving wildlife habitat, don’t we? These things are not the preserve of the left.
@CEN_HQ
Big thanks to my wonderful constituents for sharing their thoughts during my visit yesterday. Working together, we'll tackle our key priorities, stopping the ULEZ expansion and completing the new Hillingdon hospital. Your feedback is vital to our community's success.
I woke up this morning thinking “that could not have happened yesterday”. But it did. Truly shocking. This is an unjustified attack on our democracy that we cannot let happen.
#BackBoris
@Conservatives
My ambition for the New Year. To rid my X feed of all the nasty, bitter, foul-mouthed lefties on here by blocking them all. I’m doing quite well at 9,756 so far. 😄 Vorders is one of them.
I haven’t said it yet, with everything else, but I am sad for
@trussliz
. It must have been, and must still be, so painful. She stepped up to fill the space created by her own misguided MPs in removing Boris - and won. Huge respect.
I love the way an anonymous Conservative MP says a bad result will be because the party is still suffering from ‘Long Boris’. No. It will be because of those in the Party who thought it clever to depose him. Those who thought they could do better without him. Twisters. 😠
So, in Uxbridge, people preferred
@BorisJohnson
, don’t want to rejoin the EU, don’t like Khan’s ULEZ, don’t care a great deal about climate change & they’re not certain of Labour. Good, hard working people from a constituency where I was born. Politicians need to think again.
@IsabelOakeshott
I’m sorry. I have to block you for a bit. The last thing we need, is journalists continuing to stir up the public in a serious pandemic.
I am aghast at Labour’s decisions on
#Rwanda
and the
#BibbyStockholm
. The party is an absolute joke. They are money wasters. They are clueless (or deliberate actors) on illegal immigration. But more than that, they are a real danger to this country.
Why should Boris pay for the investigation into ‘partygate’? I’ll save the naysayers and the lawyers the bother. He didn’t do anything wrong. It’s all political nonsense. The people who ordered the investigation should pay for it. And Sue Gray.
People want a much tougher Conservative Party. Why can’t the Party as a whole see that? Why do the Party and MPs rail against what most people in the country want? Why won’t they tackle the issues that most people in the country want them to tackle?
Why, in the name of God, did Rishi Sunak think he could go solo and push Boris out? Why do some Conservative-at-heart people still think it was the right thing to do and press for it to happen? Deluded, all of you!
Sheep. No wonder Boris was ousted. All happy to get in on his coat tails. All jolly and happy on election night. But stab him in the back when he starts doing what he said he would do. Sheep. Nothing but sheep. (No disrespect meant to actual sheep.)
Who is going to carry the torch for the
@Conservatives
as a new, bold dynamic leader? Because those results were dreadful. There has to be a change now.
You’re not a fool. This is an attack on our democracy. Yes, the opposition will always attack anything, but there is something much worse going on here. ‘Dark forces’ at work. I just feel it. And we and Boris have to resist.
Maybe I’m a fool I don’t know but I just don’t believe there is this out pouring of anger towards the PM the media & axe grinding Tory MPs tell us.
I genuinely believe it’s a coup. Orchestrated by the likes of Cummings, 1922, Labour & MSM.
This is why they had to crucify poor Boris. We all know that. Why
@Conservatives
MPs did this to him I’ll never understand. They should have got behind him in force. I’ll never forgive those of my own who betrayed Boris.
I can’t believe Boris would come back as Leader now. The
@Conservstives
MPs forced him to leave before. Stupidly. Selfishly. Why wouldn’t they do it again? And why should he save their arrogant backsides, even if he could?
All the great policies that
@BorisJohnson
created to deal with the issues people wanted him to deal with will be lost if he goes. That is enormous. This country is honestly lost if he goes. In so many ways. I don’t understand my party’s own reasoning here. Crazy. Mad.
#ToryMPs
I cannot tell you how delighted I am that Tobias Ellwood lost his seat. On election night he criticised the ‘divide in his party’ as responsible for the
@Conservatives
losing. I’d lay it at about 50% his fault. Arrogant, pompous twit. What will you do for a job now, Tobias?
Starmer has not won this because people want him and Labour. But because they don’t like the Conservatives and how they operate. This is largely the fault of those MPs who assisted in ousting Boris. Foolish & arrogant. And I hope they all lose their seats. You know who you are.
My thoughts are that more people are starting to get behind the Conservatives, a bit scared of actually putting a cross by Labour. Particularly over the taxes issue. I’m not sure Labour will have the majority they think they will have in the end.
Seems to me, in polls and general comment, those against Boris think the more nasty comments they put out against him, the more other people will hate him & want him gone. The general public are cleverer than that. He still has much support. ‘Boris hating’ is nasty nonsense.
@iancollinsuk
But it’s not against the mainstream, Ian. The mainstream are largely still with Boris. It’s only the disgruntled pro-eu-ers, and of course the left, against him. I still believe there are a silent majority behind him, almost scared to show their thoughts anywhere.
Oh. well. We did try to tell the MPs they’d made the greatest mistake ever in ousting
@BorisJohnson
. But most of them don’t care about councillors or councils much, anyway. They are just using this as a test for the general election.
#LocalElections2024
Boris says we should vote Conservative to avoid Starmergeddon. He has an amazing propensity to put how he was back stabbed aside and think of the country first. More than I could in his position. But I suppose he’s right. Will his arguments sway your vote?
MPs should have got behind
@BorisJohnson
, let him settle back in after Covid, and allow him to deliver on the manifesto promises people voted for. The
@Conservatives
would then have been in a good position now. By throwing their weight around, the MPs have created a disaster.
#ImSupportingBoris
, too. It would be nice if this started trending, so he knows.
@BorisJohnson
. There’s a lot of love and respect out there for him. 😊 It’s just hard to cut through, past the ridiculous press stories and opposition smear campaign. But he’ll be OK.
Lockdown happened because we couldn’t know what might happen with this virus. Hindsight is a great thing. Stop blaming people and shouting your heads off and move on. Everyone! Thank you.
By mistake, I started listening to
#CarolVorderman
on
@LBC
. She is spouting so much rubbish, she could run her own tip. Awful radio speech presenter. What is she actually doing there?
I must be well past my ‘contempts of Parliament’ for the things I’ve said. Sick of this Parliament, its stupid committees and disgraceful MPs (Tory remainers and anti-Boris whingers most of all). They all need to go. And they will.
Keep up kangaroos!

George Galloway’s first words on election. “Kier Starmer, this is for Gaza.” I’m sure the good people of Rochdale are delighted his election is not for them…
What makes me most angry, I think, is that we know a huge injustice was done to Boris. But it’s just brushed over as a non event by those in the
@Conservatives
party who did him down. And who now hold power. They won’t acknowledge they did harm. Just carry on, not seeing.
What do you think of the idea of
@BorisJohnson
and
@RishiSunak
coming back together as PM & Chancellor team again? I think I’d go with it. With assurances. Of some sort.
Today is the birthday of our late great Queen Elizabeth II. It is a day to remember all she did for our country, and her timeless virtues of compassion and resilience and service.

!te, as my dad might have put it. Pardon my French. I cannot believe what Labour are doing/apparently thinking of doing.
Remainers & others ‘anti-Boris’ want we Boris & Brexit supporters to be quiet & just roll over. They are trying to make us feel we are in the wrong or “cultish”. We know what’s right. So do the majority of the public. They’ll have a job. We can see through the smoke and mirrors.
I have to say,
@PennyMordaunt
looked fantastic in her deep turquoise blue outfit and headdress. Perfect outfit. And what a job she did. Hats off to that girl.

Lee Anderson had had enough. Like most of the rest of us. You be woke if you want to. I’d rather be a realist, seeing what is staring me in the face. I don’t see any clothes on the Emperor.
‘They’ are scared of Boris. They will find ways to keep him from coming back. That’s what all these stories are about. Sue Gray, Matt Hancock, parties again. Pathetic. But the public will see through it. Boris is coming back.
I hope the public at large, particularly Conservative supporters and Brexit voters will just hang on in there. Covid has taken a toll on all of us, and it is this situation that ‘no do gooders’ are exploiting. This is my opinion. Hang on in there,
@BorisJohnson
. We need you.

😞 What a waste of an excellent leader. And excellent strategist. And excellent motivator and campaigner. An excellent people person who knew what people wanted.
Fancy taking a PM who got us through an unprecedented pandemic to some sort of kangaroo court to make themselves look good. Our MPs are out of touch. I am furious.
