@girdley What’s funny is that in his book he talks about how if a more famous person acknowledges, even to disagree, a less famous person they automatically grant status to that person. He’s turned blocking people into that very thing. It’s almost like an honor he bestows.

Modernity is Hell

Some additional thoughts on AI and Art and why I reject it. Confusion arises in some as to why I reject AI in writing because when I talk about writing, I am talking about ART and those who are confused, are not. If what we create is for god, its Art. If it's for the world, it may superficially look like art, and people might call it Art but, it is something else. We might mundanely call such works Art, but they aren’t really. It boils down to motivation, not the end result. If it's for the market, any market – and there are markets in money, attention, status and relevant to the modern world, engagement – then it is not Art, it's business. It is trade. And in all trade there is a currency. And, if you want to maximize a your take of some kind of worldly currency then an editor, man or machine, may help you. And, to be fair, that is what most people want in this world, including many who call themselves "artists," But calling something Art doesn't make it Art any more than adding the word Italian to the menu at Olive Garden makes it authentic Italian food. In other words AI isn’t for true Art (unless, perhaps, the artist is using it to create a new art form that wasn’t previously possible as a gift to God). And if you try to pass off business, trade, as true Art, God knows. And deep down you do too.
