Too far away really, but as it was a Male Merlin I just had to try. The usual 8 Shorelark, but they were very flighty with all the dogs around this morning at Holkham Beach.

A Magpie is black and white…well not really! Especially when the sun is shining on them from the right angle. Two kept going back and forth in front of the hide, clearly wanting their picture taken, so I did, don’t ignore the common stuff. @WWTWelney today

This Hare was hiding in the grass when a sheep spooked it, for once it ran straight towards me, stopped for a pose and then ran even closer and past too close to focus @WWTWelney today

The weather may have been dull today, but action from the 6 Short-eared Owl at @WWTWelney improved things considerably, even better when one flew overhead and checked me out!

Whilst I did notice the Long-billed Dowitcher carrying the grub to the water to wash it the other day at Holkham, I didn’t notice it having a poo on the way until processing the pics.

Sadly I couldn’t get any closer to this Merlin that had just caught something on the beach at @RSPBTitchwell, but never mind, so nice to see one.

Whilst taking pics of these Pintail they both started looking up, wondering what was there I looked, a very high flying Peregrine, managed to capture the male Pintail as they both rapidly left the scene… @RSPBTitchwell this morning

36 Crane leaving @WWTWelney this morning in the lovely sunrise light, and a smaller group (of around 18) wanting to come back in, but put off by a helicopter in the late afternoon

A bit of patience required this morning at @RSPBTitchwell, for the Pinkies to fly in front of the sunrise, the Red-breasted Merganser and Pintail to stop feeding for just a moment…all’s all right in the end.
