My whole family considers the NYTimes the gospel and I was hoping for a little vindication given all the good things Trump is doing re protecting women and girls in sports and uncovering frivolous spending in USAiD but no … that’s not the story they’re telling. They’re still demonizing Trump and convoluting the facts to fit their narrative. I watched a clip of Senator Kennedy grilling a woman under oath about the fact USAID funded the creation of a coronavirus in Wuhan for x billion dollars and lo and behold the same woman wrote an oped front page couple days ago crying about all the people who’re gonna starve because of USAID and Trump. I’m pissed.

My mom gaslit my childhood trauma just as hers was done to her and although I wished I could have had some help at times, in my middle age in starting to see the wisdom in her ethos of ‘just bloody get on with it’. No amount of rehashing those awful moments can really make them better.
