If you own a business, or intend to register one, you'll want to know about this. Imagine building three multimillion-rand companies from the ground up - only to have the directorships "stolen" from you 15 years later. That's what KwaZulu-Natal businessman, Rajan Harinarain, is struggling with. But it's not just about @theCIPC registration details. The fraudulent changes have affected everything from his bank accounts, to assets, to tendering for new work. Not to mention his employees. A police investigation is under way - but Harinarain is also looking for legal help to recover the damages he’s suffered. One of my favourite trees. This a grand old Zanthoxylum dayvi (Forest Knobwood/umNungumabele/umNungwane omkhulu). Found in afrotemperate forests of southern Africa. This one is from the mistbelt forests of the KZN midlands.

@GeorginaRyanSA I re-read Bhorat & co on IWOSS. Worth a closer look I feel. There is an opportunity cost to the attention vortex of the mining-manufacturing nexus. Such powerful interests maybe blind us from seeing a diversity of activities that could support wider employment gains.

@BaragwanathBiz Not so straightforward - the cost of bulk purchases is just one of many costs (infras, staff, equip, losses). Also water revenue includes revenue needed to cover sanitation (even though many (most?) just let waste flow into rivers/sea untreated).

@AntonEberhard @Eskom_SA Hearing more complaints of service/reliability of supply in Eskom areas to business & residential customers, despite network charges already on the bills. These failures/service declines were maybe hidden by the load shedding mess? Not sure if there is any data out there on this.
