Starting Monday, October 21, Switzer Road will be closed from 75th to 77th Streets. Crews will be making draining improvements through the end of October. Detours, using Nieman Road, will be marked.

435 & Midland Update:
During this phase of the
@KDOTHQ
project, drivers can access all four ramps. This means:
✅ Drivers can take westbound Midland to northbound 435
✅ Drivers can take eastbound Midland to southbound 435
❌ Midland under the 435 bridge is restricted.
Traffic Update:
After a decision by City Council, the City of Shawnee Public Works Department is restricting access to 43rd and Lakecrest Drive to limit high-speed traffic in the area. Please see the attached map for specific locations.
Traffic Update:
A City of Shawnee storm pipe replacement project is underway, requiring the full closure of 65th Street and 64th Terrace at Lackman Road. The closure is expected to last two weeks. Lackman will remain open for the duration of the project.
435 & Midland Project Update:
On Monday, the off-ramp from Northbound 435 to Eastbound Midland will REOPEN.

Traffic Update:
Due to a water main break, crews have closed 66th and Westgate Lane. We will provide a detour route and completion timeline once they're made available.
We will be closing Renner Boulevard between 87th Street Parkway & 84th Street starting at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, for road maintenance work. The road is expected to be closed for two weeks, weather permitting.

Dangerous heat will continue today through Tuesday with highs in the mid to upper 90s and heat index values rising up to 100 to 110 degrees. A heat advisory is in effect for the entire area through Tuesday evening.
435 & Midland Update:

has informed the Shawnee Public Works Department that Clarkson Construction will soon replace the box culvert that runs underneath Midland. Starting Tuesday, access from NB 435 to EB Midland will be restricted for up to 21 days, weather permitting.
