The City of Racine recently installed a plaque celebrating the replacement of the historic West Sixth Street Bridge. The award-winning project echoes the original bridge’s tile and arches, preserves habitats of protected species, and adds bike paths. It was dedicated in Nov. 2022

We hear over and over the need for more housing and homeownership in Racine. This project accomplishes both. The city supported Racine Revitalization Partnership’s construction of two homes on Highland Ave. They were recently completed, and have multiple offers from buyers.
Three Racine high schoolers continue a student exchange trek through Japan, with recent stops including a visit to the building where the national parliament meets (just a tad bigger than our council chambers). This is through Racine’s sister city relationship with Oiso, Japan.
Great day for the Racine Fire Department as Clancey Fritsch, Jared Zeimentz, and Alexander Klamm graduate from the recruit academy. It was a very formal event, until the ceremonial soaking at the end. Thank you to these three grads who are stepping up to keep Racine safe.
