At the direction of Mayor Bradley, flags at all City facilities have been lowered to half-staff in remembrance of the Los Angeles County firefighter who tragically died in the line of duty this morning from injuries sustained while bravely battling a house fire in RPV.

The City has installed 4 vertical dewatering wells on the beach in Portuguese Bend to help slow land movement. Powered by generators, the wells are pumping out over 425 gallons/min of water from over 200 ft underground. Preliminary data has already shown a reduction in movement.
