The City has installed 4 vertical dewatering wells on the beach in Portuguese Bend to help slow land movement. Powered by generators, the wells are pumping out over 425 gallons/min of water from over 200 ft underground. Preliminary data has already shown a reduction in movement.

Thanks to all who turned out for today’s unveiling ceremony for the Tongva monument at Abalone Cove Park! Designed in collaboration with the Gabrieleño/Tongva San Gabriel Band of Mission Indians, the stone monument displays bronze bas relief plaques sculpted by Geri Jimenez Gould

On Tuesday, RPV paid tribute to City founder and outgoing Councilmember Ken Dyda, who finished his final term on the Council he helped establish, serving a combined 18 years over 5 decades. He received standing ovations from the audience, where he will stay engaged as a citizen.
