Los Angeles drivers spent an average of 128 hours sitting in traffic in 2018. Public transit can be a speedier option – thanks to a dedicated bus lane, 3 buses with 210 people fly past a block in the time it takes just ~7 drivers to go the same distance:

When we open streets in LA (by briefly 'closing' them to cars), we're still amazed how quickly & smoothly everyone adapts to traveling by foot, by skate, by bike. Our free pedicabs carry as many ppl as a car would, take up less space, and pose no danger to cyclists & pedestrians.
The most important thing about this amazing Paris transformation is how fast it happened — how fast people on bikes “appeared” — once streets were transformed. You can’t write this off as “Paris was always this way,” because it wasn’t.
