@landorfede @DrShmuk Yup, accelerated brain age in those with multiple comorbidities (esp vascular) will manifest with low alpha power as expected.

@DrShmuk @bpramodana Yup, it's a proper term for the octagenarians with psychometric performance on par with someone 40 years younger! Their brains are different on MRI and biopsy (bigger neurones!).

@DrShmuk I rarely (1-2x yr) use Midaz - principally for during epidural insertion in extremely anxious patients where even my high quality banter isn’t enough 😜. Do folk use it routinely?

@jacobschmidt_ @Medtronic No; all other pEEG devices have a high pass filter from 0.5Hz. The BIS is the only oddity. Prehaps related to its vintage 🙄.

@ATraumaTick @doctimcook @Anaes_Journal Dreaming is disconnected consciousness 🤯 “Anaesthesia” likely encompasses multiple brain states - of which “unconsciousness” (whatever that is) is one. (Interesting to think about this a bit - IMHO it is a bit of an omission from the FRCA syllabus)

@selvan_ramsamy @Medtronic I believe update will default filters to OFF, and a hardware update later in '25 will allow independent filter settings for <2Hz and the notch filter for electrical artefact [this will only apply to BIS Advance]. DSA is displayed from 0.5Hz on Vista and Advance.
