The results of Victoria’s by elections in Werribee and Prahran prove that Labor is stuffed at the upcoming Federal Election.

During the last term of Council the Labor Party majority voted to increase Council Rates on local residents. After the September local Government Elections in October both major parties voted to reduce Council meetings from two meetings a month to one meeting a month. Cumberland City Council is one of the biggest Councils in NSW. How can we adequately address the issues displayed with broken footpaths full of trip hazards, dumped rubbish blocking footpath access and other serious matters. I am constantly working around the clock to ensure upgrades for our local neighborhoods.

We have a transport system in chaos with train commuters left at the mercy and blackmail of the unions a housing affordability crisis, and chaos in our mental health system where doctors are handing in mass resignations and the Ministers responsible Jackson, and Haylen are busted on the piss using a Government provided car and driver for 13 hours. Minns protection of these two duds needs to end. They need to be sacked!

These two need to go. Whilst the Transport and Housing Portfolios sit in a mess these two are out using Ministerial Drivers to take them to a private boozy lunch. So much for the party of the worker. What an absolute joke.

Northern Beaches Council voted to apply to IPART to raise Council Rates on local residents by 40%. Utter incompetence and laziness from the elected body who voted to punish their residents with this massive rate hike. With a staff of around 1800 on the books, and a wage bill exceeding $160 Million it is ludicrous that leadership was not shown by the majority of Councillors by ordering the General Manager to undertake a complete re structure of the organisation and identify where fat and excess staff can be cut. Since the Councils Officers did not present an option to undertake a restructure and conduct a revaluation of their lease fleet strong action needs to be taken by the Councillor Group. I urge Councillor’s who voted against rate raises to 1 Lodge a recession motion for the matter to be reheard. 2 Order the General Manager to undertake a complete restructure of the organisation and identify where budget cuts can be made 3 Ask to be given a list of Councils Lease Vehicle Fleet than scrap that as well. 4 If the General Manager refuses or can’t carry out the assigned tasks he needs to be made redundant.
