The support we have received in recent weeks has been immense - from the streets across Aberdeenshire, to the steps of St Giles’. I am now announcing I seek to stand for @AlbaParty, continuing Uncle Alex’s legacy and his dream of an independent Scotland.

Kenny has been a constant voice in support of Grangemouth, standing with the unions and the workers of Grangemouth. As an oil-producing nation, the fact Scotland faces a future without refinery capacity is utterly absurd. Shameful indeed. Scotland deserves better.
🧑🏭 Hundreds of highly skilled jobs are being lost as Scotland's only refinery is set to close. 🥀 Labour promised to save the refinery yet today they remain sat on their hands. Shameful.

New poll in tomorrow's Herald on Sunday shows John Swinney's party set to remain largest in Holyrood after the election. According to Sir John Curtice's analysis of the Find Out Now survey, the SNP will win 51 seats, Labour 16, Con 15, Greens 15, LibDems 15, Reform 9, Alba 8.

It was lovely to meet Muriel after Uncle Alex’s memorial and hear her stories of how they campaigned together in the NE over the years. It’s sad to see another independence stalwart who won’t be here to see Scotland set free. Thinking of Alison and the rest of the family.
Sad news about the death of long-serving Aberdeen councillor Muriel Jaffrey. The SNP stalwart represented Bridge of Don for 20 years and was always happy to talk about art and culture - as well as tolerating my occasional bafflement at Aberdeen life and lore when I moved here!
