I had some spare time so I adapted my Superbike timing info spreadsheet to the Qatar motoGP test. This shows the average fast lap times and average top speed of all riders over the two days testing. All out/in and "touring" laps have been removed for the calculation.

The commentators mention traction control here but I'm pretty sure this bike didn't have it.
I think this is pre Cosworth/Pectel and they used a modified kit ECU, it had a rudimentary spin control but not full on TC.
Also checkout the clutch action on the downshifts!

I'M VERY HAPPY! Yesterday I visited the doctors and they gave me the green light to return to competition. They have been 9 difficult months, with moments of uncertainties and ups and downs, and now, I will be able to enjoy my passion again!

In the speed chart the Ducati is still fast, Maverick is getting his elbows tucked in and Yamaha are a bit closer, but probably need another step.

They took a bit of waking up when we unpacked them but they were right as rain after a day or so.

My calculation of the top 24 Moto2 averages from Day 1 Session 3 at Qatar.
They are all pretty close in this class but the top 3 are particularly close.

Just thinking back of all the mad things I've done in racing. Close to the top of the list is running in a race spec RC30 on the road. 700 miles in one day during daylight hours, on a bike with no starter motor. I remember people staring as I bump started it out of fuel stations.

MotoGP average lap time info from today and yesterday. MV12 & JZ5 are hard to split in this chart but seem to have a slight advantage over the rest of the field.
3rd to 9th are so close that they could finish in any combination of those places.
FP3 is disregarded this time.

Here's my average time info from all the MotoGP sessions so far at Sachsenring.
Oliveira is the quickest, Marquez has good pace this weekend but I think my money will be on a Ducati. Their hole shot device will come into its own here on a track where it's hard to pass.

Can’t help feeling that yesterday the NW200 organisation would have been better off issuing a bulletin, stating that their superstock wheel regulations had been changed to reflect the TT regs that cover this issue.
Seems like a better solution than kicking the FHO team out. 🤷♂️

This is what my numbers say from the
#MotoGP
action so far. FQ20 and JZ5 have a small margin over the rest of the field, the next group from 3rd to 7th is also too close to call.
FQ was extremely quick in FP4 on new M and H rear tyres, JZ was very quick on used M rear tyre.

What JR didn’t tell you in this clip is that the Michelin guy told him he had to spin the tyre hard to get heat in it.....Oh my god, first lap past the pits on the lock stop with smoke pouring off it, turned out he didn’t mean spin it that much 😂

Dare I say it, but Donington short circuit is a much better circuit than the long one.
I've seen some excellent racing in all classes today. Particularly enjoyed the two BSB races......and don't enjoy Quest TV so much... having said that it's better than not being able to see it

If the KTM, Honda and Ducati GP bikes require a more physical riding style that is difficult for rookies and Yamaha riders to adapt to I would imagine those three manufacturers will be involved in a bidding war over Remy Gardner soon. That lad doesn’t mind a bike moving about.

This photo is a great example of why modern ECU control systems don’t work very well at the TT.
Most strategies rely on at least one wheel being on the ground, as this photo demonstrates, that is often not the case here.

Based on avg lap data and race performance I predict that Bastianini can do it again but Quartararo is going to be very close. Binder, Martin & Zarco will be a close scrap too.

Fastest riders out there are Bezzecchi, Vinales and Quartararo. Closely followed by Marquez & Marini.

Based on this my highly accurate 2020 season predictions are:
Rossi will push to get upgraded to the Petronas team early.
Aprilia will be in the mix.
Zarco will retract his apology to Avintia before Qatar race.
Ducati will sign Pol Espargaro.
