If anyone was wondering who was in the Top 10 when Venus Williams became the first African American player to become No 1. PS: I absolutely love that blue on Venus. 🎾🐕💚

Aww. Agreed. And Cordae there too. I don’t know his music, but his support for Naomi and them playing tennis after the USO was adorable.
The way that Serena, Sharapova, and Azarenka just swept the medals in the 2012 games as the top three players in the world. I don’t think that will happen here.
I will not have any Venus slander on my timeline. If Venus says she is an active player and is going to play, then she is. No assumptions needed by anyone.
I forgot how difficult it must be for Ons to be playing tournaments during Ramadan. Truly an amazing feat and admirable to commit. Are there things athletes are allowed to do during it?
The 2024 Australian Open will be Hsieh Su-Wei’s last singles grand slam tournament. Hsieh made the QF in 2021, losing to No 3 seed Naomi Osaka. She will be missed on the singles court!
I don’t even care if she wins a grand slam or not; or a title, or losses in the first round; or never makes the top 10 ever again; Serena Williams is playing tournaments. 🎾🐕💚💪🏾🏆🐐
In 2006, Venus Williams wrote an essay in 'The Times' titled "Wimbledon has sent me a message: I'm only a second class champion."
Wimbledon then announced equal prize money for women.
Venus won the title in 2007, becoming the 1st women's champ to earn equal to the men's winner

I still laugh every time because Sakkari was getting a number of those not cords and the frustration came out when Serena yelled “Out” on one of Sakkari’s balls in the 3rd.
Peyton Stearns (who is so much fun and absolutely delightful) met Redfoo in Indian Wells and liked his energy so much that she invited him to Miami. The true king of the Sunshine Double. ☀️

What the fuck is John McEnroe doing? We’re trying to go over the Fernandez vs Osaka match on what they need to do to compete well and he is making an ass of himself and making fun of Rennae Stubbs. Like honestly, get him off TV.
I was interested so I pulled this together for the current Top 20 WTA players and Venus to see what each of their win-loss records. Surprisingly pretty similar across most of them, but the only players with positive ratios: Serena, Andreescu, Bencic, and Venus. 🎾🐕💚
Watch the Venus Williams Fans video of best matches between her and Serena. The way Serena could not stand losing to Venus, especially when they approached the net. Makes me want to get back on the court ASAP too!
Serena owed Justine nothing after RG. Justine looking over at Serena with a smile. Sometimes you can’t tell when you’re right on top of the ball, but Serena was like “bitch, you kept your mouth shut in Paris; let me keep mine.”

Per Brad Gilbert, the top three players with the hardest/fastest forehands so far in the tournament on average:

2. Denis Shapovalov
3. Sloane Stephens

One year ago today she was walking out for the champions ceremony.
One year later, she will be taking the court for her singles match.

It’s sick. Serena was playing 24 type tennis USO 19 yet forgot to pack her brain for the final so Bianca snatched a slam and…retired. She don’t even play anymore. That will always be the one that got away…
