Such a lovely welcome earlier in the week and really enjoyed speaking with all of the class groups in this lovely school. Super proud of Sarah, our youth panel member and past pupil of Anahorish PS, who shared her journey, how she overcame barriers and her passion for rights 😊

This afternoon my team and I met paediatricians and nurses at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children. This was a really insightful meeting and we discussed issues of mutual concern. More must be done to meet the needs of sick children.We need to turn the system around!

Another great day! Young people are such an inspiration! Encouraging @paulgivan and @conormurphysf to facilitate the growth of alternative and further education and training and consider as part of reviews of education and curriculum
The Commissioner was thrilled to visit @skilledni today to witness the incredible work young people are doing to build better futures for themselves. Skilled NI is a perfect example of an alternative pathway into employment offering Skills for Life & Work and ApprenticeshipsNI.

Pupils in schools across Northern Ireland are being encouraged to become Zero Waste Champions, learning about the "circular economy" where resources are reused instead of being thrown away.

Very productive meeting this morning and covered many issues that we are both working on including collection and sharing of key data to meet need, enhanced collaboration between EA / DE / DOH and improved planning for specialist provision. Looking forward to future engagements.
1/2 Commissioner @ChrisNICCY met the @healthdpt Chief Nursing Officer’s Group today to discuss special educational needs (SEN) provision. Chris addressed concerns about the withdrawal of nurses in some special schools and specialist provisions in mainstream schools.
