On this day, in this room, in front of this television, I watched The Beatles debut on The Ed Sullivan Show with my sister Beth, 8, my sister Rosemary, 10, and my mother Katherine, 40. I was three-years-old and mesmerized. I still vividly remember the moment. I have been a Beatles fan ever since. #TheBeatles #Beatles #1964

Katherine and Frank were married on this day in 1942. She was 18 and he was 19. World War II had just begun. He would be off to flight training and Europe to fly B-17s and she would work in a munitions factory in Chicago in support of the nation's war effort. After the war, they had five children - three girls and two boys. I am their youngest. Frank passed in February of 1965 at the age of 42. Katherine passed in May of 2024 at the age of 100. Happy Anniversary to Katherine and Frank. #GreatestGeneration #WorldWarII #WWII

Lately, I've been reminded of the preciousness and fragility of life. As I say goodbye to loved ones and navigate the waves of grief, I'm struck by the fleeting nature of time. It's easy to get caught up in the past or worry about the future, but the truth is, this moment - right here, right now - is the sacred moment. It's sacred because we have the opportunity to express our love to those we truly care about. To tell them how much they mean to us, to listen to their stories, to share in their laughter. Let's not wait until it's too late to say what needs to be said, to hug who needs to be hugged, or to love who needs to be loved. In this moment, let's cherish the time we have with those we love. Let's make every moment count. Rest in peace to those who have left us too soon. Your love and memory will live on in our hearts. #love #loss #grief #mindfulness #sacredmoments #cherisheverymoment #ThisIsTheSacredMoment

My dear friend Mark Thompson passed on 1/28/25 of brain cancer that he bravely endured for 8 long months. His loss is devastating for his family. HIs wife Lauren stopped working to be his in-home caregiver along with their two children. Bills from medical to burial expenses are extensive. Please consider donating anything you can to help Lauren and her children in this time of great need and sorrow. Thank you!

Today we said goodbye to my brother-in-law, Kendall Clark Simpson. Ken was amazing. He was a force of nature. He had a brilliant mind, a huge heart, and a boundless spirit. He was a Renaissance man in the truest sense—endlessly curious, always learning, always growing. He had a deep love for knowledge—philosophy, science, history, and art. He was an athlete, a thinker, a man who saw the world not just as it was, but as it could be. But the guiding star of his life was love. He loved my sister, Kathy—his soulmate, his partner, the love of his life. He loved his daughters, Tara and Brooke, with a fierce and unwavering devotion. When they married Matt and Al, he welcomed them as if they were his own sons. And then came his greatest joy—his grandchildren: Kendall, Dash, Joseph, and Luke. If you ever wanted to see Ken at his happiest, all you had to do was watch him with his grandchildren. They lit up his world, and he lit up theirs. I’m Kathy’s little brother, and from the moment Ken entered her life, he became a presence in mine as well. But he was more than just my brother-in-law—he became my mentor, my champion, and my anchor during one of the most difficult times in my life. My father died when I was just four years old, and my older brother Greg became my father figure—my guide, my role model, my hero. But when I was 20 years old, my world shattered—Greg was killed in a military fighter jet crash. I was lost. I was grieving. I was profoundly depressed. And that’s when Ken stepped in. While I struggled to believe in myself, Ken believed in me. When I felt aimless, he saw my potential. He didn’t just offer encouragement—he offered a plan. He made it possible for me to attend college at USC. Ken was a keen investor. This time, he invested in my future. But his greatest gift wasn’t financial—it was the gift of belief. His faith in me gave me the confidence to find my path. And because of him, and Kathy, I did. That is who Ken was. He lifted people up. He saw potential where others might not, and he had an uncanny ability to recognize exactly when someone needed encouragement the most. He didn’t just give—he empowered. And he never did it for recognition. He did it because he believed in the power of lifting others. Ken’s generosity wasn’t just something he did; it was who he was. He helped family, friends, colleagues, even strangers—anyone in need—without hesitation. He gave legal advice to those who couldn’t afford it. He paid for education. He mentored, he encouraged, and he created opportunities for others. He believed in doing things the right way—with honesty, integrity, and heart. Ken came from humble beginnings and built his own version of the American Dream. But his greatest success wasn’t in business or law—it was in the way he touched the lives of those around him. Ken’s life was a testament to the idea that what we give to others is what truly defines us. Ken, thank you. Thank you for your wisdom, your kindness, your unwavering support. Thank you for showing me, and so many others, what it means to live with integrity, generosity, and love. You will be deeply missed, but your impact on this world will never fade. Rest in peace, my dear brother-in-law, my mentor, my friend. #Gratitude #Remembrance #Farewell #Heroes

This photo was taken six years ago tonight, as I was having dinner with my mom. It was just an ordinary evening—good food, conversation, and laughter. At the time, it felt like there would be countless dinners ahead. Now, my mom is no longer here. She lived an extraordinary 100 years, and even with such a full and remarkable life, it all flew by in what feels like the blink of an eye. Looking back, those simple moments—the ones we often take for granted—are what I cherish most. They’re the little threads that weave the tapestry of our lives and connect us to the people we love. If you’re fortunate enough to share a meal or a moment with someone you love, savor it. Put down the distractions, especially your phone. Be present, and soak in the time together. These moments are fleeting, and they become some of life’s most treasured memories. Here’s to remembering my mom and to appreciating the time we have with those we love. ❤️
