This woman owns a 2-flat on a 9,000 s.f. lot in Morgan Park and had to get a zoning change to add one more apartment. And had to pay a $1,025 fee. And it looks like she did it without a lawyer. 👏👏👏 But did we have to make it so hard?

Glad to see this: "legalize existing English basement". In many residential areas, though, this homeowner would have to remove the third unit because the zoning wouldn't allow it.

A single-family house was permitted for this vacant lot in Humboldt Park. The lot's zoning allows only single-family houses, even though a vast majority of the lots on the block have multi-family housing.
