Thank you, Karl-Anthony Towns.
In his near decade-long career with the Wolves, Towns remained the ultimate professional, loyal to his team, and had a smile on his face during trying times.
He’s also one helluva player.
A look back for

Anthony Edwards on the one thing he’d want to change about the NBA: “Probably just all the guys sitting - resting, that’s the only thing, probably, I don’t like. Just play, man. If you’re 80%, you gotta play. I don’t like all the sitting, missing games stuff. These people might

Not sure I've ever seen Naz this animated and excited during an interview.

I was fortunate enough to meet KAT a few years ago in Sacramento. He approached my Mom and me, chatted for a while, and took a photo. Karl was one of the nicest, most down-to-earth people I've ever interacted with.
I've grown up watching him interact with the media, fans, and
Obviously, I've watched this clip about 100 times, but Chris Finch attempting to get his guys over to him, particularly Ant while sitting down is hilarious.
A learning curve for everyone, lol
Man, oh, man. Jaden McDaniels has sucked the life out of Devin Booker in this series. After that exchange, Jaden had the look like, "Yeah, of course, you're upset. I would be upset if I were you, too."

There is no one I feel happier for right now than Karl-Anthony Towns. Hearing him talk about his last 9 years with the Wolves damn near made me tear up.
In the biggest game of his life, KAT -- who has long been criticized for his composure -- carried his team to the WCF.
The Timberwolves will wear their black Statement jerseys tonight for Game 5 at Target Center, while the Mavs will wear their Association white jerseys.
This is the first time in the playoffs the Wolves are not wearing a white jersey.
I absolutely loved this response from Tim Connelly when
@JaceFrederick
asked him yesterday about Anthony Edwards' next step being conditioning to play 44 minutes a night, carry the offense, and guard the other team's best player.

From what I saw live and from the replays, Klay Thompson initiated the whole thing by grabbing at Jaden McDaniels’ collar, which led Jaden to fight back and “defend himself.”
Rudy Gobert came in and attempted to break things up, he wrapped Klay up, but there didn’t seem to be
For the first time in his NBA career, Jaden McDaniels has 20+ points in B2B games, and it just so happens to have come in the two biggest games of his life.
Must-win Game 6:
• 21 pts (8/10 FG)
Must-win Game 7:

Here was Ant postgame:
There was a fan behind us, chanting "KAT sucks" the entire game, and I mean the entire game because we were wearing KAT jerseys.

Barkley also added that "nobody" expected the Timberwolves to be tied for the best record 25 games in.
Anthony Edwards was a buzzsaw to the Suns' defense in the third. They had zero answers.
1st) Bradley Beal defended him for two possessions early in the fourth. Ant ripped off four points.
2nd) Greyson Allen switched onto him for a possession. Ant connected on a middy.

We've got a loaded day of content, Wolves fans. Today, Stephen A. Smith is in Minneapolis set to host "Timberwolves: All-Access" on ESPN.

Inject that sh*t into my veins. League wouldn't be ready.
Anthony Edwards wore the free T-shirt given away to all fans at Target Center last night for the team’s flight to Dallas today.
He must be stupidly locked in, right?
“Me personally yeah, I think I’m a All-Star, I guess a lot of people don't, so that’s cool. I ain't trippin’ man, I just want to get to the playoffs…”
Following his 31-point performance,
@SneakerReporter
asked Anthony Edwards about his All-Star voting:
Karl-Anthony Towns, when asked about the Wolves being the No. 1 seed in the West:

Last night was the loudest I’ve heard the Target Center crowd since the Play-In game vs. the Clippers.
The “DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE” chant was deafening down the stretch.
Wolves fans have been showing out and creating a true home-court advantage.
Really cool hearing a packed international arena -- not Target Center -- ooh and awe when Anthony Edwards operates in isolation.
He's got superstar magnitude, and he plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Someone, pinch me.
Sources: The NBA is fining Nuggets star Jamal Murray for substantial amount after throwing heat pad and towel on court toward official Monday night. No suspension.
I want to give a huge hat tip to Naz Reid, who played eight minutes in the fourth -- five of which when Karl-Anthony Towns was saddled on the bench in foul trouble -- notching 8 of his 11 total points on 3/5 FG and pulling in 3 rebs and 2 blks.
Wolves don't win without him.
“I like you Pat, you want to win championship you come to Milwaukee, Pat.”
“Fuck that, you come to Minnesota.”
“No, no, no, no… never come here, Pat.”
Hilarious interaction between

They didn’t use the blue jersey that Moss wore. Instead, the throwback that the Wolves wore in 2019. I can’t help but wonder if the Wolves are bringing back the black trees.
No better way to do it than by recreating one of the most iconic photos in MN sports history.
Ant after the Memphis game: “oh boy, tired as hell, I get some good sleep tonight” (sees Tim Connelly) “I ain’t tired, I ain’t tired… aye this my best friend right here.”
Hilarious exchange between Connelly and Edwards. 🤣
After saying this, Stephen A. asked if Edwards is bringing out the best in the rest of his team. Again, KAT's response was filled with praise for his co-star.
"I am just tremendously proud of him..."
I really enjoyed Karl's full response:
"I think that when you have someone
I always really like exit interviews when players and coaches are honest about the season as a whole and how it ended.
Kyle Anderson was very open and honest in his exit interview today. I really appreciated these couple of candid responses:

Going forward, I’d love to see the Target Center crowd give Shake a standing ovation every time he checks into games.
Similar to what Philly fans did for Trea Turner during his dry spell last season.
Feels like some positive reinforcement could go a long way right now.
Man, I can't help but just feel bad for Shake Milton at this point.
Can't imagine that he isn't in his own head right now. Nothing is finding the bottom of the net.
So uncharacteristic of his career self.
"I don't know, I don't know. I'm going to take the fine, because the refs gave us no calls tonight. We had to play through every bump and every grab. I don't know how we won tonight. Big shout out to my team and coaches."
-- Anthony Edwards to .
@leabolsen
When the '23-24 schedule was announced, the Wolves had five nationally televised games on TNT or ESPN.
The '24-25 schedule isn't even out, and they already have at least two, both on the biggest days in the regular season -- Opening Night and Christmas.
Anthony Edwards, folks.
Micah Nori told
@PAOnTheMic
that Corliss Williamson had the idea to move Towns on Durant, Edwards on Beal, and Conley on Allen.
Nori said the Suns were Corliss' team amongst the coaches this season for game planning "the little things."
He had a lot to do with the success.
This isn't new information, but the fact that the Timberwolves were still able to make the playoffs and not get swept against the eventual NBA champions after enduring all of this is crazy to me:
• Brought in a franchise-altering player
• KAT misses 52 games
• D'Lo traded for
Karl-Anthony Towns and Paul George were asked if they have ever talked about playing with each other on PG's podcast.
KAT stared at PG and raised his eyebrows, PG started laughing, and the two both concluded to "plead the fifth."
“Every day I come into the gym, I see NAW in there early, putting up shots. Any time I throw him the ball, I expect it to go in, so I just turned around and put three fingers up.”
— Anthony Edwards to
@leabolsen
A very complementary postgame Ant…
"I think there was an X factor, Naz Reid. He's an amazing player, and he hurt us today. He's been hoopin'."
Starting to live for Luka's postgame praise of Timberwolves players after losses. Adds years to my life.
Loud “LETS GO WOLVES” chants break out after the 2023-24 season comes to a close.
KAT, Naz, Rudy, and Mike receive loud praise as they exit the court as well.
A historic season is in the books, and this Target Center crowd knows it.
Was this a gut-punch of a way to end the season? Of course. But the Wolves went all the way to the WCF for the first time in 20 years, broke records along the way, and provided a building block for many years to come.
Don’t lose sight of the whole season.
It was a fun one.
Reminder: Wolves will wear their throwback jerseys for Game 6 tomorrow, while the Nuggets will wear their blue statement edition jerseys.
Minnesota is 2-0 in the postseason while wearing the classic edition jerseys, 16-9 (64 win%) in the regular season.
Paul George: “One of the guys that are ultra talented, that isn’t probably on everybody’s radar, is Jaden McDaniels in Minnesota. He got game. Great defender, good feet, quick hands.”
Game recognizes game. 🤝
So you T Rudy Gobert up for slapping the stantion but don't T up Jamal Murray for cussing an official out and swinging in the direction of Minnesota's bench? Cool.
Tonight was one of my all-time favorite KAT games.
Only 10 points (4/10 FG, 0/4 3P), but he corralled 13 boards, dished out 5 dimes, made the right reads on offense, never looked flustered, and played terrifically smart defense on Jokić.
A job well done. 🫡
Anthony Edwards was not selected for his first All-Star game this season. Edwards, who's still only 21 years old, has yet to miss a game this season and is putting up 25 points, 6 boards, and 4 assists on 46.3% from the floor -- leading the Wolves to a 27-25 record.
Mike Conley tells
@DanBarreiroKFAN
this afternoon on KFAN that he would be surprised if the Wolves' core is broken up this summer.
Conley's full, insightful response:

The Timberwolves are bringing back bobble head nights:
Jan. 28th: vs. Kings - first 15k fans receive a D’Angelo Russell bobblehead.
Feb. 16th: vs. Wizards - first 15k fans - Karl-Anthony Towns.
Mar. 22nd: vs. Hawks - first 15k fans - Anthony Edwards.
Randomly remembered when Naz Reid accounted for nine points (6 as scorer, 3 as passer) and had 2 blocks when Karl-Anthony Towns went down with foul trouble in Q4 of Game 7 vs. Denver, and immediately thought, "hell yeah."
He was a massive reason the Wolves won.
What a night...
Don’t think I’ve ever forwarded one of my Instagram posts over here, but the first sweep in franchise history (and the greatest team I’ve ever seen) calls for breaking new ground.
We’ve got ALL of them receipts…
Mike Conley summed up Draymond Green's never-ending dissing toward Rudy Gobert to a tee:
"It is unusual, and it's getting old in a sense. Like, we can just move on. We get everyone's strengths and weaknesses are different. We can move on to someone else."
