@SarahLawrence18 @PollyRippon @BBCNews My understanding is s.44 YJCEA - which starts from arrest - was never brought into force so anonymity doesn't kick in until they reach youth court but clause 9 of IPSO editor's code says you should not identify juvenile after arrest

SYP responding to me: "what we mean by this line is that jurors who have been exposed to people’s images, opinions and speculation online about the defendant could have a prejudice within a trial setting and impact proceedings."
South Yorkshire Police, re Sheffield school stabbing, state: "Identifying a suspect can prejudice court proceedings and risk a fair and accurate trial." What?! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
