I've been impacted by the Riot layoffs. Just so deeply and genuinely confused, but thankful for the people I've met and worked with.
Will be putting a comprehensive job post together, but have 10+ years of professional esports, gaming, & product experience.
I want to build.
Minutes ago, we shared an important update with Rioters about the future of Riot Games. Here’s what these changes mean for our games and what players can expect from us going forward:
Hiya everyone :)
Happy to formally announce that I'll be joining
@riotgames
as the Product Lead of
@wildrift
esports for the NA/OCE Region!
It's going to be a change of pace, but I'm excited to deliver all sorts of competition for those looking for more Wild Rift esports!
Proud to announce my side project I've been working on for the past few months!
I'm going to be the instructor teaching the first Esports course of a four course certificate at
@UCIrvine
, titled "An Overview of Esports", starting Feb 5 of this year!
Feels weird to type this out, but today was my last day working for HU and
@HUStormEsports
. I'm very appreciative that I was given the opportunity to build a collegiate program from the ground up, and thankful to have met and worked with the students and staff that I have.
For the first time in my adult life at age 29, I'm officially debt free of everything after paying off my last school loan this week: School loan, car, credit, etc.
It's a faux pas to talk about money, but it's important people hear other's mistakes so they can learn.
A thread:
For people in the gaming community who say "Keep politics out of gaming", and are uncomfortable, it's SUPPOSED to make you uncomfortable.
You dont want to see it because it feels awful and like you have no control.
But you do. Support change against injustice.
#blacklivesmatter
This month marks exactly 5 years of working full-time professional esports for me. From pro coach, to general manager, to collegiate director, I'm thankful for the experiences esports has provided me.
The job roles might change, but the smile never does.
Got to the PC Bang and went to sit down at a seat and saw it was reserved. Guy running the PC Bang came over to me and said, "I save your friends seats" in broken English with a big smile since we've been coming here the past few days.
Shit makes me smile too much.
The first Esport I’ll be diving into to learn more than I already know about the players and community is Smash.
I already have a lot in mind, but I want you guys to link me to your favorite Smash players/personalities/commentators/etc who would be good to ask questions to!
If LCS organizations want to do more in this space, reach out to me. Interested in bettering the sub-professional scene as a whole, and have done so at every level (amateur, collegiate, high school)
Proud to announce what I’ll be working on full-time!
Starting today, I’ll be the Esports Program Director for Harrisburg University!
Doing a press conference in ten minutes to talk about the job and answer questions.
Stop by right now at:
Just so we're clear from a HISTORY TEACHER™ standpoint, teaching students only about the "positives" of a country's history isn't educational, it's indoctrination.
Normalize learning about mistakes, and that rectifying them makes a stronger nation.
This goes for any country.
@Nightbloo
@LiquidDominate
@Fedmyster
If the key part of this is to actually come to a resolution and not just placate fanbases, then doing it offstream should be perfectly fine, no?
Hey everyone!
Starting this week with the launch of Dragonlands, I’m officially going to be the Product Lead of NA TFT Esports!
Excited to work with
@WSDMGG
on another product, and this will be in addition to my normal Wild Rift duties.
Now to see how far I can climb…
NA TFT esports is once again partnering with Wisdom / Giant Slayer, this time for our TFT Dragonlands series!
Read up on our upcoming events and all the juicy details over at:
Been seeing pay disparity posts in relation to Game Dev, wanted to do the same for Collegiate/Early Pro in hopes that it will help someone.

Watching a movie when someone rings my doorbell at 1130pm. I go to see who it is, & I see a bag on the ground & see 3 teenagers running full blast away
Got ding dong ditched, thought the bag was going to be full of dog crap, but they left snacks?!
I just got wholesome pranked.
2 years at Riot today.
It feels strange to look back and realize how much I've learned in the past two years. It's been hard, but it's been incredibly rewarding, and I'm looking forward to growing over time with the TFT community.
From Summit to Vegas, see ya soon.
Today is my 29th birthday, and if I can ask one thing of people, it would be this:
Be kind and respectful to others, and be kind and respectful to yourself.
I've been focusing on the latter lately, and it's helped me do the former immensely.
Time to get out of bed now LOL
My older sister in her 30s messaging me after watching Arcane.
Love that people with zero knowledge of League/Runeterra can enjoy the ride, and that “Vi would like 1000% be my champion” for her LOL
I plan on giving my future AP Government students a 20-Question True/False Quiz on "Did Donald Trump Actually Tweet This?"
Anyone who gets 20/20 becomes the President.
Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me "old," when I would NEVER call him "short and fat?" Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!
Giving out candy tonight for Halloween, and I remember how happy I was when I got a full sized candy bar when I was a kid.
PAYING IT BACK TO ALL THE LITTLE HOMIES
I gotta say, I’m already impressed with the TFT players at Summit. Seeing all the different personalities shine through in a variety of ways is so cool.
Gameplay, acting, casting, friendships, roasts, talents, dev interaction.
Hope the TFT community is having fun with it!
TFT Summit was everything I could have asked for and more.
Super emotional, and I hope everyone in the community loved it as much as we loved putting it on for you.
Our family dog of 13 years passed away this morning. He was an old guy and he tolerated me getting in his face and taking stupid pictures.
Rest easy Hobbes, I'll miss you.

RT's appreciated!
While losing Worlds sucks, I'm looking forward to the improvements NA needs in infrastructure/training regimen/coaching philosophy/etc.
At a certain point, the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results.
So what should change?
Today is my 1-year Riot Anniversary!
Coincidentally, it's around the same time as self reviews, and one of the largest things I'm proud of is to have created two major North American LANs for Wild Rift and TFT in my first year.
Can't wait to continue to working on NA esports :)
For as long as I can remember in games where it's applicable, especially MMOs, I've always loved healing/supporting/peeling for others.
There's something rewarding about enabling others to do the most they can and have them trust you.
And saving dumbasses who are garbage.
In a different aspect,
I can't express how concerned I am for pro players / streamers / influencers' mental health.
The entertainment world is as vicious as it is captivating, and just because you're in an "enjoyable" industry doesn't mean you can't struggle as well.
Happy Valentine's Day to my one and only beb.
Being long distance isn't optimal, but it's been surprisingly easier knowing I have someone who makes it worth it.
It's pretty wild to have students who took my esports class in the last year come up to me at this
@InvenGlobal
conference and tell me how they're now involved in full-time esports jobs and that they appreciate the advice they got.
Really makes me love being a part of education.
The last month has been crazy hectic:
-Finished 15 credit semester of classes, 1 semester left!!!
-Finished teaching my last class at HU
-Quit HU and started new job at Riot
-Sent in security deposit for place in LA with
@RiotGurg7
Now I just gotta drive cross country!
feel weird talking about it on socials, but if it helps even one person:
progress isn't linear. the month after this post has been truly rough, and i am tired.
but i'm alive, and for the first day since this post i've made important progress.
we take it one step at a time.
Been having a rough go of it the last month, but feel like there’s a lot of room to improve across all areas of life.
Took this weekend to figure out how I’d like to change and what steps can be taken.
Today’s the first day in taking those steps, and I’m cautiously optimistic.
All I can think about right now is the investors/business people/parents etc that went to that ELEAGUE final to see what esports is all about and got met with that set.
Don't need to sell something when it sells itself.
That's funny, that's what POC have been asking for their entire lives and it hasn't been afforded to them. It's been what, two weeks for you, and you're tired of it?
WATCH 🚨 New York police boss Mike O'Meara went off on the media today:
"Stop treating us like animals and thugs and start treating us with some respect ... Our legislators abandoned us. The press is vilifying us. It's disgusting."
To my friends in esports and everywhere else:
Don't forgot to take care of yourself mentally. Addressing your mental health, regardless of what's affecting you, is such a huge step in allowing you to be yourself.
You are loved, and you're not alone.
#WorldMentalHealthDay
For the first time in a long while, I feel really good about every aspect of my life.
It usually seems like one part goes well at the expense of another, but I've learned how to balance things in a way that works for me, and that really is a wonderful feeling.
I paid the last $10,000 of my student loans 1.5 years ago. I could have saved $10,000 if I had waited until today.
I'm happy about it because it means others get assistance. That's the point.
The initial school loans/tuition system that started this still needs to be addressed.
"PSYCH0SiSWARRiOR" has inted 12 straight games in 10 hours in NA today smiting the junglers buff level one and hasn't been banned for it yet.
You love to see it LOL
Holy crap I love my job.
Being given the go ahead to do huge things in a field that is traditionally slow moving and to be constantly challenged feels so rewarding.
Can't wait to pull it all off.
Welcome to the TFT Global LAN for set 10!
So excited to continue working with the TFT and overall organized play community.
More details will come out soon, and we have the set 9 reveal launch later today as well!
It’s a good day for some TFT.
EXCLUSIVE: Riot Games unveils the

@RiotSherman

I can’t believe it’s finally done, hope everyone enjoyed themselves!
