Some statistical nuggets to close out the 2024 #IndyCar season… ▪️Palou is the first driver to win three titles in a four-year span since Franchitti won three consecutive, and four in five years. ▪️Franchitti remains the most recent driver to win the Indianapolis 500 and championship in same season (2010). ▪️This is the first season since 2015 that no driver won two consecutive races. ▪️Dixon finished 6th in standings, four points behind Pato. Dixon had finished top-four in championship in 17 of the last 18 years. ▪️Newgarden finished outside the top-five in championship for the first time since 2015. ▪️First time in Rahal’s 18-year career that he did not record a top-five finish all season. ▪️Ferrucci finished 9th in the standings — the first time for Foyt car finished top-ten since 2002 with Airton Dare. ▪️First oval wins for Herta and McLaughlin, who finished 2nd and 3rd in championship.
