Honestly, the biggest issue with DC was keeping the SnyderVerse stuff around like a festering wound for as long as they did. Horrible executive decisions from 2013 to 2017 put the DCEU in a terrible position compounded by perpetual unclear messaging until Gunn & Safran stepped in
I’m fully convinced that the primary reason is because of the reboot.
The same thing happened to Dark Phoenix, with the only difference being that The Flash is a fantastic film.

The issue with that first season and people not understanding it wasn’t because of the complexities of the story or characters though - it was because of new/uninitiated viewers being dumped into a non linear timeline without anything to indicate that. That’s on the show runners

is basically 2 hours of just those scenes we all watch on repeat from our favourite comicbook movies, without any of the filler. It got the core of the character right - NAILING his relationship with Khandaq, which makes him unique.
Just plain rock and roll fun.

Black Adam is a great character, & there was a special movie in the genre to be had there. A slave empowered to be a champion of an oppressed people, who doesn’t work for the outside world.

& it was honestly wonderful. A worthy evolution of the OGs story that kept the relationship dynamics of the family in a perfect place. It legit offered up more heart & solid spectacle than most other recent CBMs. Gail’s thread says it best.

I love that the family is struggling, and that the kids all carry some form of anxiety because of it. One has a secret, another is terrified for her future, it’s the kind of superheroics I love, that comes with a cost.

An absolutely insane amount of people showed up to this thing. They ended up capping the line at 2pm so I didn’t get in, but the kid befriended the original Todd-Father and was hooked up with a treat. Seeing her gush and some old friends there, made the drive worth it😁

In fairness, AntMan and the Wasp opened to 75M just 9 months ago. It was the third appearance of the character and the immediate follow up in the universe to InfinityWar; complete with a related post credits scene. It also cost 70M more than Shazam🤷🏽♂️

beginning to end last night w/ the “Filmmaker Mode” setting on my TV. 🔥.
It was amazing to see how they subtly changed the lighting on every rooftop scene to directly correspond to how healthy Bruce’s personal perspective is at that point in the film.
Greig Fraser. I’ve appreciated a lot of Batman shots in daylight in the past but this is my favorite. It’s the definition of a perfect shot.
