@raulpacheco I assume IAH which is kinda far but my husband who grew up in Houston and is there a whole lot for work says depending on time of day you could go get food or go to Montrose (the Menil Collection is really lovely).

Dear Professor Emeritus āļø This is not an acceptable way to address a colleague. It's demeaning - but clearly you understand that, you just don't care. By all means though, continue to list all the things I can do for you.

@raulpacheco THIS. Life happens when youāre doing a PhD. When admin asks me about time to degree itās ridiculous to think I have to explain to them that sometimes people have extenuating life circumstances.

@IDEpiPhD Q2 cont: sometimes itās a bad year for a school in a certain area, but things could change in future years - a grant gets funded, students graduate, etc. Ask about mentor capacity and resources!
